Outplayed and Outcoached - a complete team loss

The game was lost in the trenches, on both sides of the ball. 1st half Seahawks they consistently couldn't pick up + yardage on 1st down, leading to the inevitable 3rd and long which = 3 and out. Despite Tom Brady being a functional statue in the backfield, he only got hit once and basically...

    Not playoff ready.

Safe to say, I think we over-performed and beat all expectations... but the pessimist in me believes that the 'hawks are 1 and done, even more so with all the injuries piling up. Would it have been better to just 'get in the big dance' only to be bounced out, or end the season w/ a meh record...

    Wilson ...NOT....on the run...WHY

Wilson's option running days are behind him...he looks terribly slow, plus he'd eventually get hurt. He's at best the occasional scrambler to pick up positive yards and keep the chains moving kinda' thing...

How would you grade today’s offensive play calling?

I kind of agree--I wouldn't undervalue Wilson, but I certainly wouldn't have paid him the most $ in the league... he should be top 5, don't get me wrong, but not #1...

How would you grade today’s offensive play calling?

You all know what? If the Hawks don't pick up 3 or so yards on 1st down, it might as well be a 3 and out... Take a sack or a hold on 1st down? 3 and out... It's mind boggling how, in this era of modern football where getting 4 to 6 yds on a simple quick pass play is the norm, that we're...

    Tedric Thompson

Yeah, I don't know who was out of position more, him or Calitro...it was by the grace of God that Mullen missed the tight ends when Calitro was on em...

    Wilson is not Elite

I partly agree--Wilson isn't 1st tier, but there are very few who are. Brady, Rodgers, Brees come to mind. Wilson is probably 2nd tier. I'd put Cam Newton, Patrick Mahomes, Matt Ryan in that category. Could the Hawks be more effective with someone like, Andrew Luck? Perhaps. But we'll...

    Outclassed

I'm not sure how you could say we weren't outclassed... Chargers could get yardage at will. For the Hawks, it felt like ground hog day--anything over 3rd and 5 and it was nail biting time. Russell was terrible this game. Held on the ball way too long, took unnecessary sacks that resulted...

Serious points to get the O to produce

Agree with all the points made... though in my unprofessional opinion, a faster-tempo offense might, for this o-line ineptitude, just mean quicker 3-and-outs. Is it me, or does Seattle not run screen passes to the backs? I'm not talking about those wide receiver bubble screens (that go for a...

    Russell Wilson - A thought.

RW also underthrew the pass, and it took an amazing play by RL to prevent a crushing interception/turn it into a 'miraculous' TD pass. Overall, I haven't been impressed with RW's pocket poise this season. It's a little bit of everything: his height and vision, his trust in his O-line, his...

Why I think Seattle will probably win Super Bowl 48

I feel a lot better about the Seahawks' chances after reading this thread. I still have some concerns, however, mainly: 1) Our pass rush. Though we do get pressure on QBs, there seems to be periods where the pass rush disappears. I remember against the Saints' (playoff game) that Brees...
