Super Bowl XL* : Never Forget

What do you expect to happen when you take away a teams momentum at every turn? This was by all accounts the worst officiated high profile game of any sporting event EVER. What do you expect will happen when you are playing a good Steelers team when you take away a great pass play to the one...

All Time - Career Passer Rating

Almost exactly my stance on Wilson, although I would have him at about #15 overall

All Time - Career Passer Rating

The point is that all of those QBs are fairly recent. Joe Montana in Todays game? Fouts? Marino? Elway? Passer rating isnt a great stat as it is, and its one stat that is massively skewed by the differences in football today vs yesteryear.

This Week's Enemy Fan Forums: The Pittsburgh Steelers

There were also articles written about the game, many of them as I remember, on the officiating alone.

Super Bowl XL* : Never Forget

It wasnt even holding, and Madden made sure to state it at least twice. Just taking back that hold on top of everything else, the hawks would have won that game. Then on top of that you have the Ref apologizing to the Hawks years later. The not called horse collar on SA after the holding...

Super Bowl XL* : Never Forget

The Holding call on the pass to the one was so freaking bad that I still foam at the mouth when I see it today. Not to mention that Haggen was offside on the play at the outset. Then the obvious horse collar on SA not called. Then the low block on making a tackle. I remember just being out of...

Rumor.. Hawks interested in trading for Brandon Marshall

He was a MVP canidate in one writers mind for about 2 weeks, nothing more, he always had injury problems, and was a notorious head case. If you can get Marshall on the cheap, do it...

Evaluation of the Hawks from a Pats fan

Disagree about Avril, when he went out the pressure was gone, he was getting push. Also Disagree about Lynch, he was consistently getting chunks of yards. The Patriots couldnt come close to tackling Wilson, yet we dont exploit it, on top of the the Lane and Avril Injuries meannt that it all...

    Where was Russell Wilson Yesterday?

Wilson was very very good sunday, but the last pass is a text book example of where NOT to throw a slant. Down and on the hip or in the gut, not up and away. I cant believe they didnt just let him scramble, run it if he could, pass if it someone breaks wide open, throw it away when the pressure...

If you run the ball four straight times

And you lost every damn time.

Is anyone else backtracking about the "worst call ever"?

Agreed, we should have done three runs, or two runs and a Wilson scramble play on 4th down if they stuff us twice.

Is anyone else backtracking about the "worst call ever"?

Sure, but Wilson has so many other great attributes that you cant just pick and choose, nobody is perfect. But how about this: What the Hawks called is Akin to having Brady keep the ball on a read option from the one yard line and then fumbling the ball. Its not to Brady's strength and the...

Is anyone else backtracking about the "worst call ever"?

He did the Cardinal sin of throwing a slant, up and out in front. A slant needs to be trajecting downward, and in the gut of the WR, not up and out front, AND he threw it late after all that. It was Wilsons fault as well.

Loss of Jeremy Lane = 14 points for the Patriots

Simon on the outside was almost as bad a call as the last play of the game. Simon had no chance, none to defend those passes. Inexcusable...

That last play looked like it was trying to get Wilson MVP

You know what I thought the same thing on the drive home. This is bad bad bad folks, the fallout of a play like that in the biggest game in the world has broken stronger men.
