That stat is actually untrue, or at least misleading. Off the top of my head I can already think of two wins Brees has had in the rain (This year vs Bucs and a couple years ago in London)
That beat up, back up filled defense just went on the road to a MUCH better offense and held them in check... The Saints can play defense. If the Seahawks win, it wont be because the Saints defense sucks.
As a Saints fan I am not sure who says you guys ran up the score... but you didn't... thats stupid.
I will say to the OP though the Saints are one of the few teams that has historically NOT run up the score. We have on countless occasions kneeled before scoring and I clearly recall a game where...
Because it also might not have that big of an impact. Harvin has played 20 snaps all season for one catch, and while no one denies his talent, he hasn't done much in a long time. It is hard to just come back and start playing at a high level after a prolonged amount of time off.
It is fair that you would not know what the Saints have been doing during the week before other games. However, you should know that the Saints have been doing these gimmicky preparation things since last week too. The Eagles weren't "in their heads" but they did some similar out of the box...
To be fair the Saints were doing all of this sort of stuff (gimmicks, odd changes to 'mix things up') leading up to the Eagles game, and if they win this week they will do them leading up to the next game too...
I think it has less to do with the Seahawks specifically being in the Saint's head...
All of those guys you mentioned as being out have been out for a few weeks... the Saints D in that time has actually not been bad. In fact look at last week the Saints went on the road, in adverse conditions and held one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL in check. They average well over...
The Seahawks have played 9 games this year against teams with a losing a losing record. The Saints have only played 6 games against teams with losing records.
The Saints schedule is hardly easy and you saying so seems to indicate to me that you are not really as well informed about
True, but that only accounts for half of this. The Saints were able to stop the Number 1 rush offense for just under half of their season average. This is also not the first time the Saints took on a top 10 RB or top rushing offense and held them in check.
Thats a pretty good track record for pinpointing potential blowouts this year. Allow me to respectfully disagree with a few of your points however:
1) The Saints absolutely CAN run the ball. Are they great at it? No. Are the inconsistent at best? Yep. However, teams with similar 'poor' rushing...
