Pick #16 - DT Byron Murphy

this was arguably one of the worst positions on our defense last season. Linebacker is also a problematic area, wouldn't be surprised to see us draft a LB or too coming up.

Pick #16 - DT Byron Murphy

DT's don't need to have a ton of sacks to be effective. Murphy is a disruptor and was the main cog in Texas's defense. The guy is good in every facet of the defensive line. Need him to be a space eater? He can do that, want him to rush the passer? He can do that too.

Pick #16 - DT Byron Murphy

Great pick. This is something we've needed for a long time. We've really neglected the interior line for awhile now. Murph is a great player.

    Penix goes #8

If anything I wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy dropped out of the first round.

    Penix goes #8

No way in hell that he ever was going to be a second rounder, especially after the crazy combine and proday he had.

Any potential next Kam among these draftees?

Also worth noting, Mac looks for versatility in his safeties above all else. He wants guys that can function as an extra linebacker, slot corner or a traditional free safety all at once.

Did trading for Howell close the door on a 1st round QB?

Yeah, this move makes no sense if we end up drafting a first round QB. In fact, it kind of confused me from day one. I think you and I were in agreement there. Not that Sam Howell is a bad QB, I think he’s FINE as a backup. It’s just the fact that his contract is almost up. He’s been in the...

HC Mike MacDonald on QB Competition

I'm curious about something here. Mike MacDonald was playing coy about the status of Geno Smith as a starter earlier in the year. Now all of the sudden he is named undisputed starter. The trade for Howell is even more confusing, I'm wondering if they had something lined up that fell through...

Jamal Adams back as... a linebacker?

Initially considered him WILL before trading for him? I surely hope that’s not the case…

Sam Howell is our Brock Purdy, until he isn't.

Honestly, that seems to be John's MO. Based on the QB's that he has been interested in, he seems to be enamored with the idea of QB's that can play off script. Even Aaron Rodgers fit this mold (John Schneider was one of the highest ranking football executives in Greenbay when they drafted...

Sam Howell is our Brock Purdy, until he isn't.

Howell's offense line pass blocking actually rated higher than Seattle's did (14th), in addition to that his receivers were actually decent in Washington. Howell's issue is he held onto the ball longer than just about any QB in the NFL. His style is a lot like Wilson in that he's always...

Sam Howell is our Brock Purdy, until he isn't.

Mind listing all of the 5th and 6th round picks that didn't make it? QB's like Kurt Warner, Brock Purdy and Tom Brady are edge cases at best. The chances go down substantially of finding even a starting caliber QB after the first round. At the end of the day this move seems kind of perplexing...

Sam Howell is our Brock Purdy, until he isn't.

Purdy and Howell are nothing alike, the only thing they share is build. The way they approach the game, how they throw the ball, their strengths and weaknesses, are all miles away from each other. They look nothing alike. Purdy is a more cerebral QB that has a "good enough arm". He's mainly a...

    Rob Staton is wrong !

Was he the guy known as EnglishHawk back in the day?

    Darryl Taylor

I wouldn't say that. Irvin was good at setting the edge, his pass rushing skills are what was very hit or miss. I'd say that Irvin was more similar to Clowney than anything. Perhaps in his rookie year we could've said that about Irvin, but when he was switched to LB he became an all around...

    Darryl Taylor

Clowney is a decent player. He is a force to be reckoned with in run defense and as a pass rusher, he still gets good pressure despite his sack numbers. He just has always had a hard time closing the deal on sacks. As a roleplayer, Clowney is a solid asset -- he may never be a top tier pass...

    Sam Howell is Geno's Backup!!

It's more like John Schneider should shut up, it looks like he's relishing the spotlight right now. There was no need for him to say those things about Brooks and Lock. I haven't ever seen a Seahawk GM make more public statements or feel a need to defend past moves more than Schneider. The...

    Sam Howell is Geno's Backup!!

Mixed feelings on that one. While I think Sam Howell is a gritty, serviceable backup QB, I think that is all he's going to be. He reminds me of a Minshew character. Minshew is a really good backup and he can win you games, but he's never going to be "the guy". He's fun to watch but he has some...

    Sam Howell is Geno's Backup!!

You do realize he gave up a third for Charlie Whitehurst once upon a time, right?

    Would you sign here ?

I really don't understand the distress that people have over the Seahawks not signing FA's and the wild conclusions that "it's because of the staff". Or Mike is not it because we haven't signed anyone! That talk is completely nonsensical. Want to know the truth? It's going to blow your mind...
