• How to turn this link: http://www.netnation12.com/index.php

Into This Link.

First, copy and paste your link - i.e. -
Code: Select all
http://www.netnation12.com/index.php

Next, highlight your link with your mouse then click the "URL" button above the text box.
Your link should now look like this:
Code: Select all
http://www.netnation12.com/index.php

In the first part of the link, change the close bracket "]" to an equal sign "=". Also, just before the "" at the end (and after your link), insert an end bracket "]".
Your link should now look like this:
Code: Select all

Now, before the "" at the end of the link, enter the text you want as a description of the link - here it will be "This Link".
Your link should now look like this:
Code: Select all
This Link

Lastly, highlight the "This Link" part of the link and click the Bold button above the text box. Use this same process to select a color at the right.

Thus the link becomes:
Code: Select all
This Link

I hope this helps someone. Got a better way? Please let me know!

• Hey Steve, might I suggest simply changing the link color to something that shows up better on our background. Other than that, nice job!

Ditto. I tried the color thing a couple times, and it didn't work for me -- but perhaps I was doing it wrong. I'll try it again:

Um...

OK, it worked! Same thing, without the bold:

Um...

We have linkage! (insert snoopy dance here) (Hey, we need a snoopy dance emoticon!)

• I think my way is easier. I just put what I want to say like "check this out" then I highlight that and click the URL shortcut. Then I copy the url, then I just insert an = in the then I paste in the url and voila! check this out

• I just type it in...

Check this out

without the last space obviously.

• Is there any plans to ever change it so that a link will always open in a new tab? It's a really minor inconvenience but most other forums do it, maybe I'm missing something in the user control panel.

• There is no plan to do this. Right clicking allows you the option to open links in a new tab as it is coded right now. If it were hard coded to open all links in a new tab, there is no way to make an option for those that don't want that behavior.

• for youtubes and images I like to paste the source link on its own line completely (like so):

http://www.sweetpicture.jpg

With it being the only text on the line, I can TRIPLE click (thus selecting the entire line) and clicking the youtube/image button at the top and it formats it correctly. I find it very efficient.
