Seahawks Draft Blog is going to go through some major changes in the upcoming weeks. The most noticeable will be the move away from blogger to a professionally designed, much more organised website. Instead of just a page of information, I'll be able to organise everything specifically. The site will look much better and there will be NO adverts on any of the pages. Individual scouting reports will be easy to find, prospect specific, look smart and be accompanied by video. I am attending the Senior Bowl next year and will have interviews, images and discussion. I will be installing a podcast feature and the site will be more interactive than ever before.

However, as the site is being designed and put together I want to know what you'd like to see going forward. If you haven't visited the blog before (and you had to describe what you'd want from a Seahawks specific college football/draft blog) - what would you like to see and what would encourage you to keep visiting? If you have visited before, what could be improved and what features would you like to see introduced or developed?

Some off the top of my head thoughts.

1. Keep the navigation simple and the site easy to update and maintain.
2. Be careful of a layout that creates an excessive amount of repetitive graphical elements when content gets updated. I can link some good examples.
3. Social network aware...twitter and other useful feeds in the right hand column seem to work nice, and syndicate you content out so other sites can carry it.
4. Make sure the site has a good admin system for bringing on contributors.

I used to be anti wordpress and into the more commercial stuff, but in the last year or so i've seen people do amazing things with it. College interns make a great souce of programming labor if your willing to put up with managing a bunch of kids.

I have been watching it for the last few weeks, and the changes so far look really good. Your blog is always one of my must check, though, especially as the college season ramps up.

All I can say is that you ought to put some ads on there! Make some money, man!

I love the "watch list."

You know what would be really cool? What would keep me coming back every week even during football season? Have a "watch list" for every weekend. Tell me what games are on and which players/matchups to watch. I do not give a crap about college football and I usually don't know anything about the players until December (or if the Hawks are good, January). So if you can say "This weekend watch Michigan at Ohio State and watch [DE player] versus [LT player]."

Lawhawk - that is a fantastic idea and I guarantee I will use it every week on the blog.

Awesome changes Rob! I've been incognito for a bit, but the site looks amazing, and your receptance to feedback is (and always has been) awesome.

On the profit tip that's been brought up before: you're doing a ton of work. You deserve some support.

If you made some Seahawks draft blog t-shirts/hoodies/etc. I bet a lot of us folks would buy them to support you in your marvelous efforts. Just a thought.

Perhaps you could make some simple banners/images that other folks could use on their site(s) to link to yours?

Great work homie.
