I like the kid from UCLA, but that seems early. I could see a trade down and then picking him.

He's an interesting prospect for us, because he has all the measurables and testing as an ideal LEO, but he's played almost exclusively as a 3-4 base end. There isn't a lot of film of him as a stand up rusher, or really an edge rusher at all. No way for fan-scouts to see his bend around the edge. What I see on tape is a guy who is surprisingly strong against the run, does a great job attacking the inside shoulder of blockers, fights through contact to make plays, and doesn't quit.

But can he be a true edge rusher? The skills say yes, but the film can't confirm it.

You got to add Devante Parker to your mocks. He's to good to keep off it.

I could live with Owamagbe but it seems overkill to have him and Bennett who I'd think would play the same defensive end spot on this defense.

Personally I do not see Davante Parker as a #1 WR. He is a #2. I compare him to a Brian Hartline (Miami) or a Brandon LaFell (New England). Parker is a good complementary WR if you have a #1 WR or TE.

As far as Owamagbe, Avril and Bennett combined for 12 sacks in the 2014 regular season. And only 2 in 3 postseason games this year (both were Avril's sacks). That is not what you want out of two guys you are paying a good cap number to. Owamagbe has the upside to be a consistent double digit sack guy. The Seahawks pass rush, and overall defensive line play, was down this year. And I think it effected the secondary. Look at how Brady was able to pick apart the defense in the Super Bowl.

In 2015 Bennett and Avril could be your base DE's. Then work Owamagbe in on passing downs and kick Bennett inside. Then hopefully you can develop Owamagbe's overall game by the end of the season if not the 2016 season. Where he could possibly be ready to take on a bigger role on the defense where Michael Benett will be on the wrong side of 30.

Yeah, in 2013 our defense rocked with Clem, Cliff and Bennett. It would be nice to get back there again.

A line with Avril, Bennett, Owa and Irvin would not be out of the question, as Owa's experience in the 3-4 could make him a Justin Tuck like interior pass specialist.

My major concern with Owa, is that he is so stiff and just flat out not very good as an edge rusher. That said, he is a MAJOR threat as an interior rusher on 3rd down, due to his athleticism and hand strength. The question: Is that true value in R1?

He's a really, really weird prospect (I don't mean that in a derogatory way). His athleticism absolutely pops, but watching him rush from the edge is like watching a baseball player bat opposite handed. It's overly mechanical/not very natural. Then you watch him rush from the interior and you are blown away.

Owa in R1, is only worth it (IMO), if your coaches believe you can coach him up as an Edge Rusher. You also need to make sure his medicals check out. The "insurance" part of him as an R1 pick, is that his athleticism is flat out awesome. So for me, even though I wouldn't love the pick; I feel much better knowing I'm getting a premier athlete.

Who knows; perhaps he can bulk up to 285-290 and become an awesome pass rushing 3T. Ultimately, I think that's his best position, which sounds a bit weird right now. I think he could be an Aaron Donald Lite. His frame certainly could handle more weight (a good bit of which is simply "weight" - not necessarily lean muscle). Very intriguing guy, but as of right now, I think he is strictly a 3rd down, interior pass rush guy (in Seattle).
