Not to look too far ahead, but in the discussions of the Jimmy Graham trade, a bit was made about trading for him rather than signing a free agent as it essentially saved the Seahawks a compensatory pick (likely a 3rd rounder). How are the Hawks looking for compensatory picks for the other free agents they've lost so far, anybody have any idea?

*These are projections from overthecap

Maxwell at 10.5 APY: 3rd Round projection
James Carpenter at 4.775 APY: 5th Round projection
Malcolm Smith at 3.5 APY: 6th Round projection

I'm not sure what O'Brien Schofield signed for, but hopefully it was enough to register a pick.

Maxwell will definitely net us a 3rd.

Carp may net us a 4th... a 5th for sure.

And Malcolm Smith may net us a 5th... a 6th for sure.

And we don't know the terms of OBS yet so he may come into play as well... likely a 6th or 7th.

And the Hawks may not be done signing UFAs as well, which can certainly affect what comp picks we get in 2016.

And lastly, what all the other teams do as well will affect our 2016 comp picks.

For reference as UFA continues:

Should give an idea of who cancels who. I suspect that their qualifying levels will be off -- this year the contracts are just so much bigger. It's like there are 20+ 4th round qualifiers -- which I suspect will be modified to have fewer 4th rounders. The threshold for the 4/5 cutoff is likely to rise sharply.

Looks like we should get 3, maybe even 4 depending on if we sign anyone and if OBS or Walters nets us anything.

Just an FYI, that link should get updated as contract info becomes available. Just keep it handy.

List of projected comp picks for each team from OTC:

Seattle: This is a team that has been utterly cleaning up on the comp pick process recently. They’re projected to have a league-best 7/0 lost/gained ratio for 2015, and they’re already at 4/0 for 2016. They have also made savvy moves to improve their team (such as the megatrade for Jimmy Graham) that aren’t compromising those perfect records. Chris Cassidy has a detailed read at Cover32 Seahawks that should be a must-read for Seahawks fans wanting a Seattle-centric take on the subject. It’s clear that this is an emphasis for John Schneider.

Nice article detailing and outlining Hawks' comp picks for 2015 and 2016:

O'Brien Schofield signed a 1 year 1.7 million dollar deal which puts him as a projected 7th round pick.

According to overthecap we have 5 losses and no gains (not counting Walter because his contract details are unknown)

3rd: Byron Maxwell $10,500,000 APY
5th: James Carpenter $4,775,000 APY
6th: Malcolm Smith $3,500,000 APY
7th: Jeron Johnson $2,000,000 APY
7th: O’Brien Schofield $1,700,000 APY
