— Browning did have his best day so far on Friday. Working with the first-unit offensive line in the final series of the day — a two-minute drill —he led a nine-play, 70-yard drive capped by his well-thrown 22-yard pass to TE Joshua Perkins for a touchdown. Browning completed 5 of 6 passes on the drive, his best throw of the day coming on a fade to walk-on WR Eli Evenson on the far right sideline for a 28-yard gain. On the next play, he hit Perkins for the practice-ending TD.
“It’s only three days … but I’ve been really happy with where he’s at,” offensive coordinator Jonathan Smith said. “He spent January and February getting ready (for) this point. We bumped back spring ball this year, and that played to his benefit. … So we’ve been pleased with where he’s at.”
