Drills wise Dorsett edges of Lockett, in stats and on film Lockett has accomplished more. Dorsett might have a little more upside but Lockett is nearly as sure a thing as Dorsett and was had at #69. We got amazing value for Lockett and will look back and see this a franchise changing selection.

I was just looking at Dorsett thanks for the break down Tyler is a much better value at 69 vs Dorsett at 29 and Tyler very well could be as good or better than Dorsett .

Yep, Baldwin was severely underrated coming out. But to be fair, he didn't have Lockett's production in college. But still, it is crazy to look back at that draft and see that he wasn't even the first Stanford WR drafted. Do a re-draft of that year and Baldwin is a 2nd-3rd rounder.

Smaller WRs often go lower than they should ; Baldwin, TY Hilton, Antonio Brown, and hopefully Tyler Lockett continue to prove em wrong.

I kind of like how he measures up to Antonio Brown.

Brown, coming out:

5-10
186
4.48 40
33.5 vert

Aside from that, the most obvious and appealing similarity is how both guys separate, allowing them to catch the ball with room to pick up major YAC - leave broken ankles all over the field.

I'm not entirely on board with the Golden comparison as Golden was a very unrefined route runner coming out - even kept him off the field to start his career. Tate also has rare ability to break tackles for a WR; Lockett isn't as thick.

I like both of these WRs a lot. I actually had Lockett rated higher for Seattle. I'm not bothered by the price Seattle paid at all.

If you watched the press conference you know they missed out on one of their "must get"s. That likely precipitated the move to get Ty. They didn't want to lose another.

I like Lockett and agree that we need him as a returner pretty badly so in a vacuum its a great move. It may take time though to weigh the cost of skipping over so many potential offensive lineman picks in order to obtain him. If two of the guys we did add can grow into NFL starters capable of performing at least as well as Carp and Max then moving up for the kick returner was genius.
