Is there anyone else who thinks it is a complete joke? I know how long it's been in use and the fact that it's used to determine the college football bowl season, but its subjectivity is a mess. There's no possible method of anyone voting to be objective, so personal bias is a given. I just can't see how or why it's still the measuring stick for college football.

I'm not a fan of preseason rankings, and would actually be fine with the first ranking coming out the first weekend of October.. but other than that, don't really mind it. Most of the time it all works itself out in the end.

The AP poll is better and more fair than the coaches poll. I don't think they are the final say on which teams are better than others, but they do contribute to one of the greatest traditions of college football, debating why someone else's opinion is wrong. :)

Also, the AP poll is at least transparent now. You can view all the voters and their weekly ballots here: http://collegepolltracker.com/football/
