They always like to clump together our Arizona, Stanford and Oregon games. :229031_banghead:

Yea, i'd like to see at least 1 pretty strong out of confrence opponent for all Pac 12 schools. Huskies have pretty much cake walk out of conference schedule the next two years, but at least after that they have home and home series with BYU and with Michigan that are respectable.

Pretty good site with all future non conference scheduled opponents here:

http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/pac-10/ ... uskies.php

Watch out for Portland State though.... ask your neighbors to the east about them...

That's a joke of an out of conference schedule. Is Rutgers supposed to be their "thought" non-conference opponent?

We play at Rutgers the following year.

But we play Wisconsin in 2018.

I don't think that's correct. Should be byu, not Wisconsin. Also looked at a Wisconsin site and there's no mention of playing Washington.

Upon further review, uw vs uw was scheduled, but Wisconsin backed out.

Too bad. But can't blame them for being scared to play the Huskies. :smiley_boxin:

To be fair, the home & home with Rutgers was signed after the 2013 season when the Scarlet Knights were coming off a three year span of going 24-15 with three straight bowl appearances.

It's too bad they make these schedules years in advance. With the Huskies playing such good football heading into 2016, Petersen would relish the chance to make a name for his new program. Instead we'll have three games with backups going in before halftime.

Going 6-6, 4-5 is "good football?"

It absolutely is "good football" when:
Most predictions before the season were for 3 or 4 wins.
They have the top defense in the Pac12, and just outside top 10 in the NCAA.
They had freshman at QB, RB, and LT, and all three flashed all-conf potential.

Petersen has the UW program clearly moving in the right direction.

Remember when Washington had real expectations for their football program?

There was a 6 year stretch (03-08) where they won a total of 18 games. The six years (09-14) after that they won 48. The football program continues to get better, but they were as bad as any major football program in the country for a stretch there. USC and the LA Times started that downfall and Barbara Hedges accelerated things.

Also, football is also not nearly as important at the UW as it was a couple generations ago and that's not a bad thing, there is a University to run. It'll never be back to what it was.

Yeah WTF is up with that? They just assume everyone has that day off. I work at a bank, and banks are notorious for being closed as often as they can be, and I don't even have that day off. Not to mention all the people who work in retail, food, and a plethora of other fields.

I miss the Apple Cup every year now since they started playing it on Black Friday. Seriously...STOP IT.

I think there's a lot of truth with this. I think it all starts up top. The university president and board of directors only care that the football program is decent. They don't expect to win the conference at least once every few years anymore. So they don't hold the athletic director accountable for not holding the head coach accountable.

Part of me is fearful that this is part of the reason Petersen took the job...he knew there wouldn't be a lot of pressure. Sark's job was fine and the best he could do (with a lot of NFL talent) is win 8 games. Sark's annual mid-season meltdown didn't even get him close to being on the hot seat.

But I will continue to hope that Petersen does care about winning and is putting in as much effort as he can to win games.

Well the game has been devoid of any meaning outside the state for a long, long time. Until that changes, both teams will get punished on the TV schedule.

Yes, because having the Apple Cup televised on National Network TV at a time when a large number of people are off work is punishment.

Are you really arguing that a Saturday time slot isn't better than a Friday time slot on the busiest shopping day of the year?

No, I'm arguing that a nationally televised game isn't punishment.
