As of now, for 2016, the Seahawks have 5 of their regular picks, 1 pick by trade, and 3 compensatory picks, for a total of 9 picks. Pick #'s 26, 56, 90, 98, 125, 172, 215, 223, 246.

#1- Round 1- PICK #26 (26th pick of Rd.1) (regular pick)

#2- Round 2- PICK #56 (25th pick of Rd. 2) (regular pick)

#3- Round 3- PICK #90 (27th pick of Rd. 3) (regular pick)

#4- Round 3- PICK #98 (3rd of 4- Rd. 3 compensatory draft picks) (this pick will be awarded as compensation for the loss of FA Byron Maxwell)

#5- Round 4- PICK #125 (26th pick of Rd. 4) (regular pick)

Round 5- TRADED (regular pick #162 was traded to KC for Kelcie McCray)

#6- Round 5- PICK #172 (3rd of 9- Rd. 5 compensatory draft picks) (this pick will be awarded as compensation for the loss of FA James Carpenter)

Round 6- TRADED (regular pick #205 was traded to DET for Mohammed Seisay)

#7- Round 6- PICK #215 (5th of 9- Rd. 6 compensatory draft picks) (this pick will be awarded as compensation for the loss of FA Malcolm Smith)

#8- Round 7- PICK #223 (4th pick of Rd. 7) (received as compensation for Christine Michael trade)

#9- Round 7- PICK #246 (27th pick of Rd. 7) (regular pick)

There is also a slim chance that if 2 compensatory draft picks belonging to other teams should be disqualified, that the Seahawks could receive a 4th compensatory pick as compensation for the loss of O'Brien Schofield. If this should occur, the Seahawks would add a 10th pick which would be the #254 overall pick, the last pick of Rd. 7/last pick of the draft.

All picks are tentative and subject to change. I will update this list as the picks become official. The Compensatory Draft Picks should become official on approximately 4-1-16.

That looks to be right.

The team will need that extra 3rd rd pick to deal with the FA losses expected this offseason.

Awesome. Thanks. Could this be stickied in the draft forum, maybe, until the draft? Just a thought.

Can you explain this more? Is there any reason to think this might happen and who/what are we looking at here for it to happen?

Regarding the extra/4th compensatory pick, the scenario needed to receive that extra pick is hard to explain. Nobody actually knows the exact formula the NFL uses to award these picks. You can read about it at overthecap linked above. My understanding is that these picks have to do with number of snaps and a lot of other criteria. There are only 32 comp picks every year. The pick for O’Brien Schofield is currently the 34th pick. If by chance a couple of players that are currently listed in the top 32 do not end up qualifying, then the Schofield pick would move up to become the 32nd comp pick, the last pick in the draft.
