Who is he? Why has he shot up the boards on everyone's mock draft?

Ford is probably my favorite first round player. He's a fready athlete and elite pass rusher with unlimited upside. But he's pretty one dimensional right now. He a pass rush specialist.

BUT I think with time and coaching he can be a full time defensive end and his upside puts him in a Jason Taylor class. Very similar player. Long, lean, angular with great bend.

Scouts and GMs are in the business of projecting college players for the NFL. Production and success is considered, but what matters more are traits, skills, and talents.

Floyd has some rare qualities and skills that give him a chance to be a pretty good pass rusher in the NFL. He was miscast as a linebacker at Georgia, but when he rushed the passer he showed a lot of innate ability for it. Had he been used as a pure pass rusher all along he probably would have been a top ten pick from the get go.

Jmo but I think floyds way overrated. I see him more early 2nd round pick. I wouldn't draft him till the 3rd rd. I just don't see him playing tough enough. His game against Alabama was not worth a top 15 pick. He's got 1 special talent but it gets matched too easy. You need more than 1 move to get sacks.

he might actually end up a better as a blitzing off the line linebacker. Someone who uses his speed in coverage and surprising the Oline. I just don't see him winning consistent enough on the edge to be a top pick for me.

I'm a believer that, if he can bulk up the way Bruce did, he'd be a force as an edge rusher. But if he comes out at the size he is now I think he is a situational guy at best.

Really intriguing guy though.
