Compensatory picks for 2017

Looks like two 4's for Sweezy and Irvin. No pick for Okung due to his "one-year" deal.

Sweezy will get bumped to a 5, too.

Once I heard Okung was repping himself, I figured it would probably end up screwing Seattle in more ways than one.

Seattle will get a pick for the Okung contract IF he plays well and the Broncos keep him on his current deal. Not much chance of that happening though.

What if they keep him but restructure?

There are only a couple of ways that could happen:

1. Comp schedule is shifted so that a lot of 4s become 5s.
2. Chiefs cut Mitchell Schwartz before final cutdown
3. Jets cut one of: Forte, McLendon, Jenkins

That's about it. Qualifying period is over and no other teams have lost players in excess of Sweezy's contract that aren't canceled by equivalent gains.

Still remains to be seen what happens with Sowell. He's costing a 6th round pick (Mebane) and obviously that'll factor in when cutdown time rolls around.

OtC admits it's an unprecedented numerous of 3s and 4s. I don't think the NFL wants that to happen and Sweezy is at the end of the 4s.

If Okung's option gets picked up then its not a "1" year deal. I think overthecap may be wrong on this one.
