Seems really odd to make the announcement right before the Apple Cup, leaving a 10-1 team and the fact that he would most likely be a starter next year with King graduating and Jones probably declaring for the draft.

Odd announcement indeed. Might be some off-field issues, but it could also be due to the younger DBs on the roster that will play next year. Maybe he doesn't feel like he'll start next year, either.

It sounds like he won't be playing on Friday though, that's the part I don't get. Why not wait till seasons end?

Sounds like UW wanted him to take a drug test and he refused which caused friction.
