  • First-pick is ok, but I have found the rankings and trades unreasonable. I use Fanspeak, it has rankings that are updated weeky from CBS, Draft-tek, NFL and many others. It has a free option but you don't get trades. They offer a early bird special in Dec for $5.00 and you get to be a GM (overThe Cap) and draft with trades. After Dec I think the cost goes up to $9.00.

I just did a free agent signing and draft that you can check out here,

    http://fanspeak.com/ugm/share.php?d=uyxdwy

always fun to be in the GM seat, and at this time of year involved with your team.

  • Here's my latest whirl that I just got done with. I tend to be a wheeler and dealer, so like accumulating picks. Here is my completely unrealistic haul ...

Your score is: 11972 (GRADE: A-)

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 31 (ATL): Garett Bolles, OT, Utah (A-)
Round 3 Pick 3 (CHI): Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State (A-)
Round 3 Pick 12 (N.O.): Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama (A)
Round 3 Pick 26: Marcus Maye, FS, Florida (A)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Southern California (A)
Round 3 Pick 39 (N.O.): Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, Alabama (A-)
Round 3 Pick 42 (COMP): Derek Rivers, DE, Youngstown State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 43 (NYJ): Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State (B+)
Round 4 Pick 3 (JAX): Isaac Asiata, OG, Utah (B)
Round 4 Pick 4 (CHI): Justin Evans, SS, Texas A&M (A)
Round 4 Pick 8 (CAR): Zach Banner, OG/OT, Southern California (C+)
Round 4 Pick 10 (CHI): Howard Wilson, CB, Houston (C+)
Round 4 Pick 21 (DET): Jake Butt, TE, Michigan (B)
Round 5 Pick 4 (JAX): Jeremy Sprinkle, TE, Arkansas (C-)
Round 5 Pick 11 (PHI): Jon Toth, C, Kentucky (B)
Round 5 Pick 21 (DET): Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M (D+)
Round 7 Pick 4 (JAX): Aviante Collins, OG, TCU (D+)
Round 7 Pick 7 (LAC): Aaron Jones, RB, Texas-El Paso (B+)
Round 7 Pick 8: Tedric Thompson, SS, Colorado (D+)
Round 7 Pick 20 (DEN): Jeremy Cutrer, CB, Middle Tennessee (D)
Round 7 Pick 35 (DEN): Javarius Leamon, OT, South Carolina State (D)

You know, I don't know about you guys ... but the way this site grades picks just baffles me. I mean, I'm not going to take an OLB -- just because the computer THINKS I should -- when the value for the pick is elsewhere. With the players I take, I always try to look at them through the lenses of how I believe Schneider and the Hawks ACTUALLY view them (the measurables, the traits, etc.). I'm sure many of you do the same.

  • I decided to take a crack at Fanspeak's On The Clock draft. Here is my first go around with it this year. You can only do trades if you're willing to pay for the premium package, so this was a no trade draft. Personally, I'd be fairly happy this ...

26: R1P26 -- OT GARETT BOLLES (UTAH) -- Comment: Great athletic LT. A no brainer pick IMO if he's there at #26.

58: R2P26 -- CB QUINCY WILSON (FLORIDA) -- Comment: Solid CB with good coverage skills and loves getting physical. This guy screams Seattle Seahawk to me. Good potential CB to star opposite Sherman.

90: R3P26 -- EDGE JORDAN WILLIS (KANSAS STATE) -- Comment: A 6'4 255 specimen than can run the 40 in 4.53 seconds and a 39" vertical to boot? Good-night! This guy was a stud for that Kansas State Defense. Again, he strikes me as exactly the kind of defender that the Hawks like.
    http://www.kstatesports-staging.com/video/560d5ed9e4b0568dc0490db6

102: R3P38 -- WR JUJU SMITH-SCHUSTER (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) -- Comment: Solid, tough reliable WR who has no fear. Great size, great blocker, excellent body control, and strong reliable hands. Again, I see him very much in the mold of the kind of receivers the Hawks like. You gotta love the comparisons to Anquan Boldin.

106: R3P42 -- G NICO SIRAGUSA (SAN DIEGO STATE) -- Comment: Solid, strong, powerful guard who is a strong run blocker with a nasty demeanor to boot. Good value pick at this position.

210: R6P26 -- EDGE JOE MATHIS (WASHINGTON) -- Comment: Mathis is a guy most of us are familiar with and strikes me as one who could end up being a shiny gem who could be mined late in the draft. Again, amazingly athleticism and production in college. The Husky defense was a completely different defense without him. A potential impact player IMO

226: R7P8 -- OT JAVARIUS LEAMON (SOUTH CAROLINA STATE) -- Comment: A 6'7" 310 pound big man whom many comment on as having the potential to be a starting Left Tackle in this league as he has good athleticism, decent feet, and has shown himself to be solid in pass protection. If he's still there in the 7th round (with all the OL line issues the Hawks have had), I don't see how the Hawks could pass him up.

  • Penihawk -

He is so intriguing to me. When I look at players available past the top 10 im very MEH on anyone till around late 20's. Looking at non OL its just so hard to figure where he will go off the board. Outside of the top 10 he seems to be the most sure fire future all pro in the draft. HE has the talent and athletic profile to go anywhere from 15-45 ish.

Im just so sick of having JAG at 3rd LB/leo.
