  • Hey guys I am excited for the draft season!

Here was my very first Mock I did

    Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 18 (T.B.): Carlos Watkins, DT, Clemson (A-)
    Round 2 Pick 26: T.J. Watt, OLB, Wisconsin (A)
Round 3 Pick 16 (MINN): Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma (A)
Round 3 Pick 20 (T.B.): Kevin King, CB, Washington (A)
Round 3 Pick 22 (MINN): Avery Gennesy, OT, Texas A&M (A-)
Round 3 Pick 26: Conor McDermott, OT, UCLA (A)
Round 5 Pick 26: Joe Mathis, DE, Washington (D)
Round 6 Pick 26: Aarion Penton, CB, Missouri (A-)
Round 7 Pick 8: Obi Melifonwu, SS, Connecticut (A+)
Round 7 Pick 26: John Johnson, FS, Boston College (B-)

Currently have very little research or knowledge about any of these guys as of now. But moving forward I will be selecting guys based off of "Seahawky" parameters... IE: TEF / cb arm length / leo arm length / Grtty qualities.

    Have fun guys!

  • It's been speculated that Mixon could fall to the 4th - 6th rounds due to off field concerns and concern about backlash drafting a kid with such damning video out on domestic violence.

  • I know there are trades in every draft, and the Hawks will likely make multiple. But I cannot predict them, and so with no trades this is what I came up with.

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 26: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington (A)
Round 2 Pick 26: Dion Dawkins, OT, Temple (B+)
Round 3 Pick 26: Eddie Jackson, SS, Alabama (B+)
Round 5 Pick 26: Ryan Glasgow, DT, Michigan (A+)
Round 6 Pick 26: Dylan Donahue, OLB, West Georgia (A-)
Round 7 Pick 8: Jonathan McLaughlin, OT, Virginia Tech (D)
Round 7 Pick 26: Joe Mathis, DE, Washington (C)

Don't want to offend, this is not a critique but just some thoughts I had as I was reading it.

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 26: Sidney Jones, CB, Washington (A)
Like this but would rather have Adoree Jackson for his speed.
Round 2 Pick 26: Dion Dawkins, OT, Temple (B+)
This guy is almost a carbon-copy of Ifedi and many are saying he is a better fit at guard. I want a true OT. Really like Ryan Ramcyzk but he's not available here. Would take him at rd 1 if the best CB's are gone.
Round 3 Pick 26: Eddie Jackson, SS, Alabama (B+)
Jackson is a free safety not strong safety, similar size to ET but not as fast. He could go into the 5th rd. If it's a SS I like Kai Nacua who has the right size and speed for the position.
Round 5 Pick 26: Ryan Glasgow, DT, Michigan (A+)
Good pick but some are saying he will go later. I like Kevin King here or at 6th rd.
Round 6 Pick 26: Dylan Donahue, OLB, West Georgia (A-)
I like the pick but from what I've heard they have set a higher priority than 6th rd for a linebacker, especially a LEO.
Round 7 Pick 8: Jonathan McLaughlin, OT, Virginia Tech (D)
I like the pick but lower rd OL picks just feel like more wash-outs, plenty have turned out good though, roll the dice.
Round 7 Pick 26: Joe Mathis, DE, Washington (C)
Love Joe but there's a real possibility that he falls out of the draft.

  • Here are my latest picks. Somehow Fournette fell to #26 pick and it was a no-brainer. That caused the top OL to be chosen before my second round picks. So I had to wait until the 4th round for OL. Fournette was just too good to pass up.

Round 1 Pick 26: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 4 (JAX): Haason Reddick, OLB, Temple (A+)
Round 3 Pick 26: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 32 (N.E.): Kevin King, CB, Washington (B+)
Round 3 Pick 41: Noah Brown, WR, Ohio State (A)
Round 4 Pick 25 (N.E.): Will Holden, OT, Vanderbilt (A-)
Round 5 Pick 38: Jamaal Williams, RB, Brigham Young (A)
Round 6 Pick 3 (JAX): Levon Myers, OT, Northern Illinois (A-)
Round 6 Pick 26: Stevie Tuikolovatu, DT, Southern California (A)
Round 7 Pick 8: Cole Hikutini, TE, Louisville (B-)

  • No way Haason Reddick lasts till the 3rd Round. At the Senior Bowl he's been on fire and if he churns out a good combine he could go Round One.

  • Was bored, so just tried my hand again. I'd be ecstatic if this is how the Hawks draft actually turns out this year. I made one trade, the traditional trade down a few spots in the first. (FYI, I am in NO WAY a Crimson Tide fan. This is just where I though value fit need the best in each spot)

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 31 (ATL): Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (B+)
    Round 2 Pick 26: Ryan Anderson, OLB/DE, Alabama (A-)
Round 2 Pick 31 (ATL): Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida (A-)

  • Going without trades is tough...I just can't help myself. Something like this would please me immensely:

Your score is: 10933 (GRADE: B+)

    Your Picks:
Round 2 Pick 3 (JAX): Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan (A-)
    Round 2 Pick 26: T.J. Watt, OLB, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 2 Pick 32 (N.E.): Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado (B+)
Round 3 Pick 7 (LAC): Antonio Garcia, OT, Troy (A-)
Round 3 Pick 26: Davon Godchaux, DT, LSU (A+)
Round 3 Pick 41: Josh Jones, FS, NC State (A-)
Round 4 Pick 6 (LAC): David Sharpe, OG, Florida (A+)
Round 5 Pick 38: Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado (A)
Round 6 Pick 26: Elijah McGuire, RB, UL Lafayette (A+)
Round 7 Pick 8: Chad Hansen, WR, California (A+)
    Round 7 Pick 26: Jake Elliott, K, Memphis (A+)

I'm not extremely high on Garcia, but in a weak OT class, he could be a solid performer on the right side, if he can get the lead out of his feet. Sharpe has projected inside or at RT.

And I just love, love, love Godchaux from LSU. I think could be a disruptive stud, especially with our depth and the ability to rotate in and out.

  • I think a decent rule of thumb for these sites is allowing yourself a single trade down. The problem is they are still using the old draft value chart which hasn't been relevant since the early 90's. You can end up with 15-20 third round picks simply by trading down constantly as result.

Here's one with a single trade down from 90 to 99/113.

It's a little unrealistic but I'd be happy with it. Howard would be another terrific target for Wilson and we'd have a scary 12 personnel package with him and Graham. Samuel is a playmaker who gives us depth for Procise and can line up anywhere, Douglas looks a lot like Browner, and Ogunjobi could provide some inside pass rush which we never have enough of. Ford would compete with Kearse and Richardson as a split end who can beat press coverage and provide a threat downfield.

  • Round 2 Pick 4 (CHI): Haason Reddick, OLB, Temple (B+)
Round 2 Pick 26: Marcus Williams, FS, Utah (A)
Round 3 Pick 3 (CHI): Kevin King, CB, Washington (C)
Round 3 Pick 26: Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma (A)
Round 3 Pick 41: Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina (A+)
Round 4 Pick 4 (CHI): Tedric Thompson, SS, Colorado (D-)
Round 5 Pick 38: Jonnu Smith, TE, Florida International (B-)
Round 6 Pick 26: Joe Mathis, DE, Washington (D)
Round 7 Pick 8: Jonathan McLaughlin, OT, Virginia Tech (C-)
Round 7 Pick 26: Zane Gonzalez, K, Arizona State (A+)

Don't really care about the grades they give. In this scenario, I have us signing Andrew Whitworth and Calais Campbell in FA.
I don't think any of these guys will be available where I got them except maybe Mixon, but if it shook out something similar to this (at least position wise) I would be stoked.

Haason starts at SAM and gives another nickel rusher, which is great for next year when we will probably lose Cassius.

Marcus Williams is Earls backup. Legitimate talent behind Earl, will play some Dime and Specials and if God forbid something happens to Earl again he will come in and make plays.

Kevin King starts opposite Sherm immediately. Long, athletic, ball hawk that tackles well in run game. Plays with tremendous swagger....sound familiar?

Mixon is a top 15 talent in this draft. Instantly gets carries. With him, Rawls, and Prosise in the stable this would be one of the best RB situations in all of football.

Zay Jones is just a stud. Next year Richardson is a FA, Kearse's contract increases and I don't think they keep him on the Roster, leaving them with Doug, Lock, and Mcavoy. Would get snaps this year, but next year he is probably starting opposite Lockett with Doug in the slot. He reminds me of a WR version of Russell Wilson, just go listen to his interviews.

Tedric is one of my favorite Safeties in this draft. I think Kam has 2 good years left with us. I see Thompson playing specials right away and starting in year 3 with Kam moving on.

Jonnu is a very talented receiving TE, filling the void of Luke. TE 3 on the roster.

Mathis probably goes round 2 or 3 if he did not have injury concerns. Such a talented rusher. Again, with Cash likely gone next year getting another edge rusher in the mix is a good idea.

McLaughlin probably doesn't make the team, but in my scenario he competes at RT with Gilliam this year. Whitworth is our LT with Fant behind him.

Zane Gonzalez, arguably the best kicker in the draft. Will push Blair Walsh back to FA.

Like a lot of these picks. As far as kickers go, I don't think there's a big difference between Elliott, Gonzalez or Rehko. I probably like Rehko the most, each Elliott and Gonzalez have missed LOADS of kicks in college.

I like Tedric, too. Actually, I like most of these picks.

  • The one thing that irritates me about first-pick.com is their bogus grading system. They have an overall grade that is much lower than the individual player grades. Just ridiculous....how does one get a C when the lowest grade of the individual picks is a B or A- even. That is plain stupid. So I just ignore their fake grading system because there is no rhyme or reason to it.

This is probably the best Mock simulation I've seen yet. Although I don't think it remotely possible once the combine concludes.

Those first 6 players pretty much all make the team and the active roster.

  • While I did generate some higher scores, I think I like this draft best. There is just the one trade down with Cleveland so it is somewhat realistic, isn't it?

Round 2 Pick 1 (CLE): Sidney Jones, CB, Washington (A)
Round 2 Pick 20 (CLE): Budda Baker, FS, Washington (A-)
Round 2 Pick 26: Obi Melifonwu, SS, Connecticut (A)
    Round 3 Pick 26: Adam Bisnowaty, OT/OG, Pittsburgh (A)
Round 3 Pick 38 (COMP): JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Southern California (A)
Round 3 Pick 42 (COMP): Dawuane Smoot, DE/OLB, Illinois (B+)
Round 6 Pick 26: De'Angelo Henderson, RB, Coastal Carolina (A)
Round 7 Pick 8: Zane Gonzalez, K, Arizona State (A)
