I'm going to go ahead and get this started because i've got nothing else going on tonight. I'm going to deal with mostly U of O and UW, cuz those are the two I follow, but as before if anybody has any info about other schools, especially in the pac 12, it would be awesome if you contributed.

It looks like Oregon is going to have another big class next year. 21 graduating scholarship seniors plus you factor in some attrition (transfers, medical retirements, leaving early, etc, etc) the class will likely end up around 25-28 kids.

Maybe somebody can help me out with UW's class size. I counted 22 guys who are going to be seniors next year, but i have a feeling quite a few of those guys are walk ons so wont be opening up a scholarship. I think i've read that its going to be another relatively small class, similar to this years. Help me out with that?

As of right now UW has 2 commits for 2018, the Ducks dont have any.

UW's Commits:

Jacob Sirmon, 5 star QB from Bothel, Washington. Ranked as the 22nd best player in the class. Obviously a long way off and a lot can happen but I would guess that he's UW's starting QB as a redshirt freshman after Browning runs out of eligibility.

Huskies 2nd commit is Jacobs cousin Jack who is a 4 star LB . I might be wrong, but i believe their grandpa played for UW. Jacks dad is Peter Sirmon, ex-duck player and ex-husky coach.

As far as local talent in this class, as of right now it looks like there's 3 kids in the state of Washington who are pac12 worthy. I'm sure there are others who could get up there with a big senior season. In Oregon, its the deepest class I can ever remember. At least 8 guys who should end up at the pac 12 level.

1st the Washington kids:

1. Sirmon

2. Kyler Gordon, from Everett. 4 star CB. Oregon was his first offer, but that was from the old staff. I havnt heard anything about Taggart being in contact with him. UW has also already offered.

http://247sports.com/Player/Kyler-Gordon-94271
http://www.hudl.com/profile/4580494/kyler-gordon

3. Devin Culp, 3 star WR from Spokane. Big kid. 6'5". Is listed as WR right now but will probably end up at TE. He was already commited to Oregon but decommited when Helfrich was fired. I think he ends up at UW.

http://247sports.com/Player/Devin-Culp-94201
http://www.hudl.com/profile/6040370/devin-culp

Now the Oregon kids:

1. Dawson Jaramillo. 4 star tackle from Lake Oswego. At one point he was rated as a 5 star. Right now he's more athlete then polished football player. But has a very high ceiling. Has already visited Oregon several times. My guess is he'll be a duck, but UW is in it as well.

http://247sports.com/Player/Dawson-Jaramillo-83790
http://www.hudl.com/profile/4285009/dawson-jaramillo

2. Talanoa Hufanga, 4 star athlete from Corvallis. He'll most likely end up at safety I love this kid. Total stud. He also played QB for his team but wont be a college qb. I'm sure the entire pac12 will offer. Dont count out the hometown Beavs, but i'd bet he ends up at Oregon, UW, Stanford or USC.

http://247sports.com/Player/Talanoa-Hufanga-89865
http://www.hudl.com/profile/392092/talanoa-hufanga

3. Braden Lenzy, 4 star athlete from Tigard. Could be either a DB or WR in college. have heard that Stanford might be the team to beat.

http://247sports.com/Player/Braden-Lenzy-84307
https://www.hudl.com/profile/2153991/braden-lenzy

4. Chase Cota, 4 star WR from Medford. His daddy was a Duck, his cousin Brady Breeze is a current Duck, and he'll most likely be a Duck.

http://247sports.com/Player/Chase-Cota-58928
http://www.hudl.com/profile/4151357/chase-cota

5. Trey Lowe, 4 star Athlete from Portland. Younger brother of exDuck wide receiver Keenan Lowe. Kids a hell of a football player but he's tiny. Listed at 5'9", 172 pounds, which i've heard is generous. 247 has him rated as the 42nd best player in the country, which is quite a bit higher then the other sites have him. I wouldnt be surprised if he followed his brother to Oregon, but I wouldnt be surprised if Taggart chose to pass on him either.

http://247sports.com/Player/Trey-Lowe-94365
http://www.hudl.com/profile/6362281/trey-lowe

6. Elijah Winston, 4 star linebacker from Portland. His brother is a current linebacker for Oregon. Better athlete then football player.

http://247sports.com/Player/Elijah-Winston-88963
http://www.hudl.com/profile/4274311/elijah-winston

7. Travis Spreen. 3 star center, from Portland. He's listed as the #1 center in the country by 247. He doesnt have any offers yet. But he will.

http://247sports.com/Player/Travis-Spreen-93604
https://www.hudl.com/profile/4729375/travis-spreen

8. Malacai Salu, 3 star ILB from Portland. He's rated pretty low but most people who pay attention to Oregon high school football think he's a better linebacker then his 4 star teammate Winston. Winston is the better athlete, but Salu is the better football player. I think he'll move up in the rankings as he gets noticed more.

Lowe is about 5'6 160, he won't be getting a UO offer. I won't be surprised to see he end up at a Boise or a school like that.

Potentially huge news for Oregon recruiting. Nate Costa (ex Duck quarterback and graduate assistant coach) just got the offensive coordinator/QB coach job at IMG Acadamy in Florida. For those that dont know, IMG is basically a football factory that turns out the most college players year in and year out. They recruit from all over the east coast and get the best players in there. Nate absolutely loves the Ducks and will be a nice Oregon voice to those kids to help build that Florida to Oregon pipeline which Taggart and staff have already started.

If every year we can pull 5 kids out of Florida, 5 Polnesian kids, 5 So Cal kids, and then just cherry pick the rest of our commits from around the country we'll be golden. With the one assistant coach position we still have available, due to Reaves firing, i'd love to see us get someone with deep texas recruiting roots.

around 20 depending on early departures I think.

Not sure there are many outside of Vea, maybe gaskin. Browning certainly not.

I think Gaines is a possibility too. I saw some mocks even this year that had him in the 2nd round. I would guess that Vea and Gaines are the two early departures. Maybe Gaskin. Maybe Trey Adams.

Anybody interested in getting into recruiting, especially from the Oregon duck perspective should check out jhops new site. Scoopduck.com. It's a pay site but well worth the cheap price for good duck recruiting info and conversation.

Trey Lowe commited to UW. Even though he's rated as a 4 star i'm kind of shocked UW took him. Dude is tiny. I kind of figured he might end up at Oregon State, Boise State, Portland State or something like that.

He's bigger than Chico McClatcher was in HS and Petersen found a nice role for him.

Dawgs got their 3rd WR commit today (3rd and final for WRs this year) in Marquis Spiker. 4 star, top 100 player out of California. 6'3 180lbs.

Really solid pick up. I'm not a 247 member anymore so I wont be on top of the Husky recruiting like i was last year. Please continue to post when you land them.

Idk if that's true. A few of the coaches around the Portland and Vancouver area, have all told me he's 5'6-5'7 and 160lbs. But he had impressive stats last year, before getting injured, so he's a player.

I was surprised on lowe as well.

They're supposedly taking him as a WR but if he was actually recruited to play safety it wouldn't surprise me.

Spiker and Osborne is a boss WR class

so...

UW got a commitment from 4 star top 100 Idaho QB colson yankoff today.

Kid is a stud, but you wonder what that means for sirmon if anything. If he is bailing it would be surprising but both he and yankoff are great options.

signing both would be fantastic
