I just knocked up a 7 round mock draft. Let’s start with the trades.
Cleveland has a need at left tackle and has the ammunition to jump up in front of the Patriots to select their guy.
Earl Thomas is traded to the Bucs. Seattle don’t get the 1st and 3rd that they’re asking however do get similar value overall.
Seattle also trades up into the 3rd round with the Chiefs.
That leaves Seattle with the following draft board –

The picks –
2/1 – Derrius Guice, RB
Pete has been clear about fixing the run game and selecting Guice at the top of round 2 would be a sure fire way to accomplish that. Guice is often compared to Marshawn Lynch due to his running style and attitude. There are some that are against Guice however Seattle knows how to deal with these types of guys. Plus, he is only 20 years old, there is a high probability he matures pretty quickly once into an NFL building.
2/6 – Rasheem Green, EDGE
I wouldn’t expect a 10 sack rookie season out of Green in year 1, however he has all the tools, tangibles and body to excel at the defensive end position with proper NFL coaching, it’s just waiting to be unlocked. Green has a very high ceiling and would add much needed depth to the Seahawks defensive line.
2/32 – Hayden Hurst, TE
Hurst is genuinely a first round talent. The only thing holding him back? His age. He will turn 25 before the regular season starts so he’s much older than many prospects. It’s fair to assume Hurst will be a ‘what you see is what you get’ type player, he isn’t expected to develop at the next level but that isn’t a bad thing. He’s 6ft 5” & 250 pounds and will be a valuable asset in the passing game for Russell Wilson. We have our blocking tight end in Ed Dickson, now we have our receiving option as well.
3/14 – Shaquem Griffin, LB
This pick should come as no surprise. Griffin will likely be a 3rd down linebacker and probably the best special teams player on the roster. The energy this guy will bring to the locker room is really, really exciting.
4/2 – Luke Falk, QB
Seattle finally drafts a quarterback! This will be the first QB taken since 2012 and will provide valuable backup insurance for Russell Wilson. Falk won’t have to travel far as he was the QB for the Cougars. He’s more a ‘pro-typical’ QB in terms of size at 6ft 4” and 225 pounds and with a year or two to develop, could be a fantastic trade prospect for Seattle.
4/20 – Tarvarus McFadden, CB
McFadden has the size that ties in with Pete’s ideal size for a corner. He has 32 ½ arms, a 78” wingspan and is 6ft 2 tall. He has a genuine chance to become a starter in the NFL and there is no better training facility to set him up for that than the Seahawks. He excels in press coverage and loves to intercept the ball, something that has been somewhat lacking in recent years with Seahawks CB’s. He could very possibly be a day 1 starter and provide fantastic value.
5/9 – Mark Walton, RB
Walton would add valuable depth to the running back group. He would likely start quite a way down the depth chart but could climb quickly. He never fumbles the ball and is a natural pass catching so can be used in all facets of the game. In any other draft, Walton would likely be a 3rd round choice.
5/31 – Dimitri Flowers, FB
You know what makes the run game better? The best fullback in the draft. Flowers is worthy of a 5th round selection for what he can bring to the run game. He is tough and reliable, something we keep hearing from the Seahawks front office. He is a very capable blocker and will be an absolute godsend at the goal line. Seattle had a huge problem with goal-line offense, Flowers solves that problem by keeping the ball on the ground.
7/8 – Michael Badgley, K
Badgley is incredibly accurate from under 50 yards, making 24 of 26 from 40-49 yards. His accuracy beyond 50 yards is somewhat concerning, however.
7/30 – Levi Wallace, CB
Wallace has arms of 32 ¾ and a wingspan of 77 3/8. He will likely be a backup for Seattle however does have some upside. This selection is all about competition at the cornerback spot and if nothing else, he will push the guys above him to perform better.
