Hopefully it's a good game decided by the teams on the field. Not the guys in the striped shirts. And no injuries.

  • LOL, typical Browning! Plenty of time and throws a pick into triple coverage in the endzone.

As Ive said for more than a year now, I cannot wait for the Jake Browning era to be over!

  • UW got lucky points were not scored off the kickreturn fumble.
Weather is helping UW, they need to keep running the ball as they are having their way doing it, and they need to keep running it to keep the Cougs potent offense off the field.

  • WSU got outcoached tonight unfortunately. Peterson had UW prepared for a snow gameplan and ran the ball hard all night. Leach had seemingly no plan B at all for the adverse weather.

A real shame for us Coug fans. This had appeared to be the best WSU team perhaps ever and yet another disappointment came.

I’m a little shocked WSU didn’t put up more points. As a UW fan I respect the hell out of Mike Leach and what he has done to get WSU to the 10-1 record previous to today, and how he has brought that program back, but as one of the WSU fans said in this thread he didn’t seem to have a backup plan of plan A wasn't working.

Cody Pickett was after Tui and was an excellent QB for UW and owned many of the QB records untill Browning recently. Jake Locker was also a very good college QB, and very much a gamer.

  • That was a fun game. Happy I was watching on TV and not there.

Washington handled Utah earlier in the year with a two-TD win. But Utah has actually been better since losing its starting QB.

The Utes new freshman QB Jason Shelley is very fast, elusive, shows poise in the pocket, and has a great arm. I would compare him to a young Russell Wilson, but the accuracy isn’t there yet to make that comparison valid.

That’s going to be a great game on Friday night. Utah still has a tough one against BYU, while Washington can celebrate and rest for an extra day.

I like Washington’s chances to win another conference championship and make it to the Rose Bowl. :D

I would definitely agree with that statement for this game. UW looked totally prepared for this game. Not even going to use the snow as an excuse. Washington had the Cougs number from the start of the game.

In 17 years of coaching, he’s never won a conference title. This is only his second time winning double digit games, ever. He has a losing record in bowl games. His defenses are consistently crap.

Yeah, he’s overrated. He’s a “name” because he makes outlandish statements and because he’s a celeb humper, not because of his coaching record.

    As for his offensive adjustments...

  • I hate having to resort to highlights to watch the game.

No BBK interception. No Molden almost interception. Is that just trying to save face on Minshew for whatever reasons. Albeit, I only watched the google assisted and fox sports highlights.

And I hate how literally the best highlight of the game probably won’t make any cut... the clock draining 4th quarter drive where UW just ran for first down after first down to put all that snow on ice.

  • Ok I'll say it WSU Couged it !

How can you not game plan for the weather when the forecast was for a chance of snow and at least Rain.

UW has a more rounded team also so when you can't run the High Octane offense much like the Rams then you better have a way to counter on another level.

Would have been a nice story for the Cougs this year if they had won and kept going in a bowl game.

  • WSU can't game plan for that kind of game, what are they gonna do line up and pound the ball? They're built to throw the ball with timing and precision just hard to do that in a blizzard. People calling Leach overrated are crazy when you have a school like WSU in Pullman in the top 25 that's an amazing accomplishment. The caliber of athlete he's getting compared to UW isn't even close.

  • it seems to me that in the pac-12, usc and ucla get the most talented football players.

when washington is in a successful era, they get a similar caliber; maybe a notch below the two southern cal teams.

oregon were recruiting well there for some time; not sure how they do these days.

sometimes, stanford does a good job recruiting, but they're possibly somewhat handicapped by academic requirements.

really, past usc/ucla, the rest of the conference are basically getting leftovers, and oregon state and wsu are at the bottom of the recruiting barrel.

so yeah, leach is pretty good. that he apparently won't change things up somewhat on offense is mystifying.

anyway, i don't really know about recruiting, but have always considered usc/ucla to have the most talent by default; and wazzu is way down the list.
