You wait as a kid for almost a month for Christmas to come.

In the weeks before, you have been making a list of all the cool things to ask for.

As the date gets closer and the tree goes up, the presents are all under the tree.

You have this giant package under the tree wrapped up in bright metallic colored wrapping with a gorgeous bow on it. What could it be? It's Huge! This is so exciting because you had a long Christmas list. It must be some of the biggest things on that list. Maybe even something you never even thought you could ask for!

Finally, Christmas comes and you race towards the tree. Of course, everyone else has to open their presents too so you wait your turn. But when it is finally your turn you sprint to the big box under the tree with your name on it.

Ripping apart the wrapping you notice it is not one box. Someone traded in for your big present for a bunch of smaller boxes. Damn!

You pick out the biggest of the smaller boxes and hope for the best. It looks big. And it is heavy. Maybe it is still something good? You tear the cardboard open and reach into the box.

As you pull the cardboard completely open you realize what it is. Your grin turns into a look of crestfallen disappointment. A giant package of socks, underwear, undershirts from Costco. Crap.

Sure you can use it. I guess. But socks and underwear?

What a letdown.

You learn to just look for some good stuff in Day 2 because nothing that exciting comes on Day 1.

(Meanwhile, the Patriots got Harry, because they are smarter than us. No Savage, No Harry. But we got a guy that might become a slower crappier version of Frank Clark. Maybe. If we are lucky.)

You use the word 'playoffs' as if they get to play in more than one game.

They got bounced out in the first playoff game last year and missed it the year before.

It isn't as if they have been knocking personnel decisions out of the park lately.

Yup last yr was a rebuilding yr and we still got to be "let down" by a first rd loss....again stop being a baby. New England is the only org who can say they've had more sustained success.. sure I wish we were them too but their qb is taking a huge discount.

And McDowell and Ifedi.

It's ok to question picks. Part of being a fan.

Hopefully Collier is better than we think. I'm trying to find a bright spot to this first day and right now it is very difficult to see it.

And Russ. Some of them are STILL complaining about that!

To be fair to those folks, Russ is too short, kinda not black enough and definitely a game manager ... since media experts called him a game manager. Although with Russ's new cornrows, he has ably addressed the first two criticisms.
