If you were the GM, what's the earliest and latest possible round you would wait to draft each position?

For example, the offensive line. Do you feel the need to find a Right Tackle better than Breno is so important that you'd draft a first rounder, or do you think he is good enough we only need to look for diamonds in the rough and can wait till the 7th round? Or somewhere in the middle?

Feel free to approach this anyway you want. If you want to think of all positions in the draft being equal in depth and skill, you can do it that way. Or you if have a good understanding of this drafts strengths and weakness, you can use that knowledge, too, either pushing up or down the importance in waiting till a specific round for certain positions.

Lastly, you can assume certain needs will be filled through free agency or none at all. Up to you. I approached this with only the backup QB spot being addressed cause I wanted to focus mostly on how I would draft with the team we have now.

My list
*QB: 4th - UDFA - I'd love a quality backup assuming we move Flynn, but I'm not impressed with this QB draft class in the later rounds and would not force the issue. I'd be fine not drafting a QB at all.

RB: 6th - UDFA - With Turbin as our backup, I feel much more comfortable keeping a PR/KR specialist as our #3 RB, but if there's a speedster who can challenge Leon's spot, while saving us some cap space, I'd go as high as a 6th rd.

FB: UDFA - No reason to bring in anything but camp players.

WR: 1st - 3rd - The talent level in this draft at receiver is good enough to warrant a first rd pick, yet our 3 starters are good enough to wait to address this later. However, we NEED depth and more weapons for Wilson in our 4 receiver sets and the first few rounds can provide valuable players.

TE: 3rd - 6th - I'm not sold on needing two stars at TE so much that we spend a high draft pick. I think a 3rd is high enough to find a player who can beat out McCoy or a 6th who at least be our #3.

OL: 4th - 7th - Only thing I'd spend a pick on is tackle depth who can possibly grow into a starting RT. At worse, I'd want to give Cable something he can work with.

DT: 1st - 2nd - Whatever it takes, find a suitable DT. Trade down into the 2nd if we have to get better value.

DE: 1st - 4th - Clemons may start 2013 on the PUP list and is set to make $15 million in base salary the next two years. Taking a GM view on things, he may be too expensive long-term. At the least, his injury causes further concerns about the pass-rush. DE a major need.

LB: 2nd - 4th - I think Smith can take over the WLB spot, but we'd need some competition there. Other needs would cause me to avoid any first round line backer, no matter their talent level.

DB: 4th - 7th - Lane or WT3 can challenge each other to replace Tru, but I may want to look for a better alternative. Otherwise, I'd be fine waiting till later round to find some players Pete & Co. can develop.

K - 6th - UDFA - I guess I can throw Kicker in there as well. Is there a Legatron in this draft?

*QB is the only position on here I'm assuming we can find a cheap, decent backup through FA.

This looks about right. I believe DT/DE will take priority spot, player availability permitting.
Some of the WR and OLB's would be wonderful consolation prizes.

I kinda want QB Matt Scott from Arizona and think maybe he could be had 5th round or so.
If I thought WR Quinton Patton could be had at the end of the third, I'd get my WR there.

I agree about Matt Scott, I've been working on a mock draft all week and I I have Matt Scott in the 5th to us.
