Really impressed with this guy after watching some tape on him and he sounds like "our guys" in his interviews. Watch the second video

Fieldgulls had a write-up on him about a month ago as a possible Earl Thomas backup. He has the range for it.

He is very unique. He is a little short but got really long arms and 40.5 inch vertical. He ran 4.42 40 and 28 reps on bench.

Strengths: Obviously shorter than ideal but possesses a very stout frame. Highly aggressive defender who uses his natural leverage advantage to slip through cracks in blocking fronts and prove a nuisance around the line of scrimmage. Thomas plays the game with reckless abandon and loves to throw his body around on the field, seeking big hits against the ballcarrier. Sent off the edge as a pass rusher, showing the lateral agility to avoid blocks from running backs and excellent closing speed. Good lateral agility and speed in coverage. Reportedly was timed at 4.26 seconds in the 40-yard dash during Syracuse's junior timing day.

Weaknesses: Obvious size limitations, though these concerns ironically, show up most when he's away from the game's biggest players. Makes most of his plays near the line of scrimmage. Thomas plays too aggressive and too often bites on fakes, finding himself constantly playing from behind, where his height and lack of arm length can be a real detriment. Has a tendency to lead with his shoulder on his hits, resulting in some big pops but also some slipped tackles.

Compares To: Bob Sanders, SS, Indianapolis Colts

So, we can guarantee if this kid gets drafted, the nickname mafia on this board is going to call him "Sharko".

It's too obvious to be funny, but you can't hear this guy's name without thinking about that Key and Peele sketch.

That sketch hilarious and so true. In this draft alone there's Shamarko Thomas, Barkevius Mingo, Quanterus Smith, and Jawanza Starling. And that's just off the top of my head.

Don't forget Darius Slay!

Combine footage aside, I like this guy. He definitely likes to hit. I don't see him as a sub for Earl so much as Kam, oddly enough, but that speed could be a killer in the bandit if we ever decide to dust that personnel package off and use it again.

Guy is an athlete!

At the Combine he provided;
- Fastest 40 time among safeties (with a very fashionable finish)
- Most bench press reps among all defensive backs
- Tied for highest vertical among all defensive backs
- Second longest broad jump among safeties
All of this while weighing in at 5-9 208. Love to have him back up ET.

Guy is a great athlete but don't forget about his instincts. He likes to study the film a lot and is always working on the mental side of the game. Whoever is going to draft this guy in the mid-late rounds is getting a steal. His head is basically opposite of Aaron Curry's with same athleticism for his position. He is being overlooked because of his size. He is going to make some team really happy.
