Michael Bennett's stock has got to be soaring right now and will only get better in the Super Bowl in my opinion. Bennett has done so well this season that in the offseason I believe he will be given an offer he can't refuse from a different team and if he stays with seattle it will probably be for less money. So I think the Seahawks need to protect themselves and take a tweener (6'4-6'6,270-280lbs) DE somewhere in the draft around the 4th-5th round range. Becuase without someone doing what Michael Bennett does i can see this Defense struggling next year.

I think he wants to stay in Seattle though. It may be wishful thinking but here is a quote from him the other day.

"People want to come here and play for Pete," Bennett said afterward. "He just lets you be yourself. And we're only gonna get better, too. We're so young, man. It's gonna be great to see us grow."

Mcd bros or one of them are probably getting paid as well, safe to say we'll need to Draft some more depth on the line regardless of which guy leaves. Bennet won't be replaced if he leaves, we can only hope he stays. Would cut a veil and Clemons to make that a reality. So we might be in the market for some d ends.

Clemons and Bryant are making more than they are worth at this point, IMO.

I would much rather have Bennett/Avril for what we are paying Clemons/Red

If it's at all possible I wouldn't mind keeping Bryant around. I'd prefer to keep him because at times it has been obvious that Bryant is blowing up the OL and running game, while Clemons has had a relatively down year (to be expected). Avril is already under contact and I think with Clemons gone, we could re-sign Bennett.

We do have Greg Scruggs in the wings, but Seattle will probably be cutting Chris Clemons and thus turning their attention to life after Cliff Avril. Wouldn't surprise me to see a DE taken high this year.

Bennett has seen inept front offices, he knows he has a great deal here and with how we rotate probably an extended career. We have a knack of handling players like this and our environment is well liked. He will get paid a lot of money here as well, may not be filthy money but a lot.

Just curious....why is this posted in the NCAA Football and Pro Draft Forum? Is Bennett eligible for the draft?

Well, he is talking about drafting a guy to replace him.

We will know well before the draft if this is true. No sense in discussing it now. Personally, I think it'll be rather trivial to resign him.

Chris Clemons remains the #1 LEO and a starter. Clemons had the most snaps (among defensive linemen) verses the 49ers with Michael Bennett turning in the second most snaps. I'm looking for an effort toward multiple contract adjustments ..... rather than outright releases. Much of the pass rush talent at DE doesn't play the run as well as Clemons .... IMHO

Apples and Oranges.

Clemons and Bryant play the run well. That is why they are starters.

Bennett and Avril are often paired as rush specialists on passing downs.

I think Bennett gets Clems money this off-season, I also think that Red is either cut or restructured. Bennett is our number one priority this off-season in my opinion and its not even close. Like people have mentioned Greg Scruggs is a very similar player to Bennett but definitely a down grade.

I'm keeping Bennett, if it means getting rid of clem and red so be it (although one of them will get restructured at least)

Get bennett done and worry about avril next year

My opinion, Michael is a Hawk through and through. No way he leaves. Not saying he would work for free, but I bet he would give a discount if they give him a multi-year contract.
