Compensatory Picks

With UFAs like Bennett, Tate, Thurmond, Giacomini, heck even maybe Browner if he wins his lawsuit to name a few. We could see some of our players get paid on the open market.

With so many core guys that need to be locked up, I doubt we see a ton of FA action by the Hawks. So could this be the model that our FO wants? Keep the core intact, and let other teams over pay for our guys and replace them while loading up on draft picks?

Who else thinks that the Hawks will be handsomely rewarded in the compensatory system this year?

Only problem is we don't get the picks till next year. With how loaded this draft is sure would have been nice to get extra picks this year. I doubt next year will be anywhere close with how many juniors came out.
