This is a sad situation. Pacific Islanders had a storied history for producing tough football players. Unfortunately for them, the Hawaii football program has rarely embodied that toughness, manly due to a finesse coaching style that has followed them for many years. They need a Pete Carroll type of coach to instill toughness, win over the Island, and resurrect that program through a mantra of competition. Two guys I think should be considered are Carroll disciples Rocky Seto (secondary coach of Japanese ancestry who has coached for Carroll since 2001) and Ed Orgeron (former DC and DL Coach, coached for Carroll from 2001-04). They will need to raise some money just to afford Norm Chow's buyout.
