More good news, or shall I say good vibes, from the agents for Okung and Thomas.........http://blog.seattlepi.com/football/archives/216094.aspQuote: Okung and Thomas are two of the league's 30 still-unsigned No. 1 picks. With Seahawks rookies due to report for physicals on Thursday, the clock is ticking.
But Andrew Kessler, the agent for Thomas, doesn't view the lack of signings as an impediment.
"I like setting the market," Kessler said via e-mail on Wednesday as he continued working on a deal for Thomas, a highly-regarded free safety out of Texas selected with the 14th pick in the first round.
"Hopefully we reach an agreement before the report date tomorrow night. That is certainly what we're aiming for."

It would be nice if they could be signed today. I was reading in the Seattle Times this morning that since 2002, only 2 have signed on time to make it to camp.

"I like setting the market" doesn't sound all that great to me. Hopefully, it doesn't mean that Kessler is looking to make a splash for himself at the expense of Earl Thomas and the Seahawks.

To me, it just says he isn't waiting for other draft picks around #14 to sign before trying to get his client signed. I view this as a good thing.

Setting the market is what both agents and teams do. It's a very proper thing to do. Having set the market means that the agent is looking at other signers and not holding a much higher standard for his client. I really hate it when an agent feels that their client is above the market and demands an outrageous contract.
This is a good thing

It sure would be nice to see all of the picks in by Saturday or Sunday. The team needs all of the younger guys in camp so there is not another extended "learning curve" like there was with Curry last year and other high draft picks on other teams. The longer the hold out the more it seems to effect guys play during the first year. Then again I may be reading to much into it, and it may just be that some of the younger guys need a year or two to adjust to the NFL life (like a Mario Williams).

Oakland's #8 pick, Rolando McClain signed today, and the contract does not look out of line at all. That does nothing but help us, so....come on Seahawks!!! Let's get this done!! Get our boys in for the first practice on Saturday!!

Redskins gave Trent Williams a six-year, $60 million contract that includes $36.75 million guaranteed. Okung shouldn't be too long.

Williams signing might help but last I heard Eric Berry and Joe Haden were nowhere near agreeing terms with KC & Cleveland. They are either side of Okung - that can't help at all.
Thomas more likely to get done for me seeing as Graham has signed. But it'll be a pleasant surprise if either is done before camp starts.

Eric Berry becoming highest paid safety in NFL history is a bit concerning as its effect on our guys' contracts.

Berry was given a contract that was as an artical I read said based on his ability to play corner and safety, sounds famaliar, Thomas also has that moniker as a player that can do both. The fact that the artical on PFW mentioned that has to be taken in to account for Thomas as I am sure it was big enough to be part of the negotiations.
