Russ is one tough man, no one should ever doubt his commitment to this team.

Crown of the helmet to the face. They want to criticize Russell for re-entering the game prematurely but won't fine the defender for the cheap shot that forced him to leave the game in the first place? And he didn't have a concussion, just a screwed up jaw from a dirty play.

The NFL is telling defenders that they can go high and lead with their helmets if they are willing to exchange a 15-yard penalty for knocking the QB out for at least several plays while he is forced to go through the concussion protocol.

How is that not a penalty? or was it?

It was. I don't think it would have gotten past this forum if it was not. Since it was a penalty the irritation of the hit was transferred to whether the ref should have taken Russ out of the game. All that goes out the window if the flag isn't thrown.

Quarterbacks wanting to stay in the game is nothing new. But since it's the Hawks, it will become some huge issue. Homer or not, that was a cheap shot, period.

Would have hit him in the chest if he wasn't so short. :)

Are you sure? I don't think they did call a penalty on that hit. I never saw one at least.

There was no penalty called on that play or hit.

The NFL should be fining the Referees, and their own lame asses, for allowing assholes like that to STAY in the game after a dirty play like that.

Ah ok. Thanks for the correction. I hadn't remembered seeing the flag. I must have been distracted by the Wilson in the tent shots.

Yes there was....It cost the Cards a 15 yard penalty for "Roughing The Passer"
What SHOULD have been called, was a 15 yard penalty, AND an ejection of the player.
They booted Lane from a game earlier in the season because they THOUGHT they saw him throw a punch at a player (Replay proved that he didn't).

At 15 sec you can see the ref calling the penalty. At 30 sec, you can see the flag come flying in at Wilson’s feet

And Dansby was fined $18,231...the exact same amount Richardson was fined for not breaking Stanton's jaw.
