Quick Question

For those in the know:

If the NFL season is not going to happen, then do the players still get paid? Reason I ask is it may be a factor if there is a season or not. I'm sure the higher paid can sit it out, but below them I don't know.

Another thought , do players get to keep signing bonuses if no season ? I would guess yes , but not sure .

I tend to think guaranteed money is paid regardless, just no playday pay.

The real question is if they don't play this season does that use up a year of their contract or is it roiled forward?

After all they still attended virtual meetings etc.

If no games are played, then they are not paid, and it doesn't count as a season.

That's my understanding from the CBA. Of course, the owners and players could come to any mutually agreed upon arrangement instead, but there you go.

CBA also says if they play one game, everyone gets paid... if you are on a guaranteed deal (most vets are) then you get your salary for the year, even if the rest of the games aren't played, even if fewer games are played, etc.
