i've seen a few sites (NFL.com to name one) that predict C.Michael takes over for Lynch in 2015. I personally think this front office will not try to have Lynch take a pay cut or anything like that. I think they will let Lynch play out his contract becuase of his impact on the franchise and the message it would send to the other players. I think But they probably won't resign him.

Didn't he sign a 3 year deal? That means it expires at the end of the 2014 season. I could be wrong though.

It all depends on him really can he stay healthy and continue to produce one thing we know and that I really like about this FO is they will make the changes that are needed .

That 2 million dollar roster bonus in 2015 will be the kicker. They'll either cut him before paying that or let him walk after that season. UFA in 2016. I'd give it a 25% chance of playing out the contract.
He is signed through 2015. He becomes an UFA in 2016.

I say he has a 50/50 chance of finishing it out, although I would personally love him to play it out as that means he is still tearing it up.

He doesn't have the stamina to do that as he has taken himself out of plays quite a bit in last season to take a breather.
With Turbin and some of the new draft picks he better nut up or just may find himself the next Matt Flynn.

All I said was, he is contracted for 2 more years, and will be approaching 30 at the end of those 2 years. That is the magic cutoff point these days.

IMO I think he's traded for draft picks just on the cusp of his downside. This might be the thinking of the FO with most of these guys short of Wilson. As well as the FO drafts, I'm all for it.

I see him playing out his contract as the starter barring injury.. the competition will be between turbin and Michael for the back up role, where i think it will be stiff..Whoever wins that will more than likely take over as starter down the road.. Lynch's style will not allow him to play much longer than that at this level.. beautiful to watch but it takes it's toll, ask Jerome Bettis and Earl Campbell...

Age is also a factor, but as a season ticket holder that sits behind the Hawk bench, I can not remember how many times I saw Marshawn running towards the sideline tapping his head wanting to come out this last season.

Lynch straight up carried this team on his back at times last season. He was a big reason that Russell was as successful as he was. He saved our butts in Washington. He single handedly changed the perception of a team that was once considered among the softest in the league BEFORE our D arrived.
No hate here. If this dude can produce for three more years at his level, then he deserves to play out his deal. Big if, though.
