Going into this season the Seahawks had an overall record of 305 wins and 315 losses. Being a member of the 38 club, it got me to thinking about the overall success of this team. Back in the 20th century the mid 80's were considered the glory years. My how times have changed!

The early 2000's with the Holmgren era were the new and improved glory years. I think we can all agree that the last 2-3 years have surpassed both of those eras as the best in franchise history. I came into this season fully expecting them to finally reach .500 as a franchise. They are currently 8 games under .500. Unless they run the table or go deep into the playoffs it looks like that .500 mark may have to wait until next year.

What got me to looking into this is how much better this century has been than the last.
During the 20th century they had an overall record of 176 wins and 225 losses. So far this century, they have an overall record of 129 wins and 96 losses.

So in a head to head match up its 43% wins for the 20th and 55% wins for the 21st. From 2000-2013 they have had 10 winning seasons and 4 losing seasons. From 1976-1999 there were 8 winning seasons, 11 losing seasons, and 4 .500 seasons. So there were 2 less winning seasons during the first 24 years than there have been in the last 14.

Also since 2000, your Seattle Seahawks are 4th in total Super Bowl appearances. 20th Century-0 Super Bowl appearances.
1. NE-5
2. NYG-3
3. Pitt-3
4. Sea-2
5. Balt-2
Whether they win by 50 or barely eke out a victory against a winless team, this century is a great one to be a 12!
