That's disappointing. KPL was playing great this year. He has an opportunity to come back strong and start next year if they decide to move on from Smith and Wright.

Not surprised. A bunch of folks here speculated this could happen a week ago. He'll be back and do well next year.

Agreed, was expecting it since Pete almost let it out at his presser before. Looking forward to his return next year.

I'll speculate now Mal is gone and KJ could be.

Tiny piece of background to Loucheiz Purifoy per SI

The Indianapolis Colts have waived rookie cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy and signed veteran cornerback Jalil Brown, the team announced on Thursday.

Purifoy signed with the Colts in May after going undrafted out of Florida. Indianapolis' decision to part ways with him was based on a series of "minor, in-house disciplinary issues", according to a report from Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star.

Purifoy also had multiple off-field issues during his time with the Gators (2011-13), including a 2013 charge for marijuana possession. He contributed on special teams for the Colts and was expected to possibly earn more time on defense over the final five weeks of the regular season.

Purifoy was undrafted out of the University of Florida in part because of a history of off-field character flags, including a narcotics arrest in 2013 and another reported drug-related run-in with police earlier this year that did not result in charges when Purifoy agreed to cooperate with a police investigation.

As a result, Purifoy was on a short leash from the Colts, who made it clear any current actions would be viewed in light of his previous transgressions. It also did not help that Purifoy was the passenger in receiver Da'Rick Rogers' car on the night in September when he was arrested for driving under the influence. R
The Colts also relied heavily on Purifoy on special teams, where he was among the team's best at covering kicks and punts.

Purifoy made such an impression on the Colts in the preseason that they felt comfortable trading Marcus Burley to the Seattle Seahawks. Burley has become a key member of the Seattle secondary.

Sucks about KPL. Obviously he'll lose valuable playing experience this year but he seems like a good one. He played pretty damn good for a rookie this year.

Seems to me Loucheiz Purifoy is a direct fill in for Jeremy Lane who is dealing with health issues.

Dam Quinn knows Purifoy so that should comfort many. Loucheiz becomes the youngest member of the 2014 Seahawks.

The Florida kids always worry me but they haven't seemed quite as dangerous since Urban left. Hopefully this kid makes the most of his opportunity.

He will really have to keep his ass squared away or else the LOB will lower the BOOM on him. I don't think those guys have much patience for a screw up.

Peer pressure can be a powerful motivator. Maybe watching ET & Co. go about their business will be a good influence.

It's just that time of year...not enough left of the season to recover except from a minor injury.

But I agree, it sucks.
