This guy was a 2nd round pick...really? I've seen turnstiles block better. It might be time to consider Gilliam at RT. Britt is awful. Every time Wilson looked around, Britt's guy was in his face. Wilson had a tremendous game and it could have been better had Britt actually blocked today.

Do you know we won the game? Dominated the game?

RW also had a ton of time on a several pass plays. He is still getting hit way too much, but they weren't all Britt's fault.

First of all a great win today!

Britt is going to get Wilson hurt at some point if he doesn't get better.

Rookie offensive linemen are rarely complete, regardless of what round they were taken in. Britt has shown enough for me to believe he'll make big strides in the offseason. This year, he is what he is. Those great offensive lines out there are great because they were allowed to go through their growing pains.

Britt played fairly poorly today no doubt. He had one other very poor game this year, at the Lambs IIRC. He's a rook. He'll get better but it won't happen as quickly as we'd like. But there were times his pass pro was good though cuz Russ stood back there for 4 seconds waiting for someone to get open several times.

He's not developing as fast as some have. Give him time.

Big time run blocker ; poor in pass pro. Seems to be what Cable emphasizes (not that he wants or looks for poor pass blockers; just weighs heavily towards the run game).

The hell with it. Let's trade his butt to the cesnas and get Giacommini back..Sure, he is more expensive, barely does a better job, but dammitt, he is a fan fave. :sarcasm_off: Seems to me, the big Russian had 2+ years in GB before we snatched him, and it took him another 2-3 years to pan out.

If a rookie steps in and plays like a stud that's a luxury, not an expectation. He's not horrible and is actually rock solid as a run blocker.

The league has more mediocre RT's than not. He's going to have struggles, most RT's do. Russell had quite a bit of time today, I don't see it as an overwhelmingly glaring issue. He's got tools though, we'll see how much he can improve.

Some of the fault lies on RW not stepping up in the pocket. Part of the reason RW doesn't step up in the pocket is from inside push. You need to look at the game in layers rather than black and white.

His pancake block was pretty rad.

Exactly, he has the typical, erratic execution of a rookie, but there were plenty of times when Russ had really good protection... especially in the second half. He's doing fine.

Hard crowd in here. The guy has been amazing for a rookie. Stepped right in and contributed in a major way in a very tough position.

Go back and rewatch the game. If you watch closely, a couple of the blocks it looked like he whiffed on were actually not his man, they were missed assignments by the RB who should have taken the outside guy, but didn't see him and went after the inside rusher who was already double teamed by Britt and Sweezy. Britt peeled off to try to make up for the mistake.

He hasn't been a Sebastien Vollmer, but he also isn't in his 6th year either.

We get a really good game out of our offensive line against one of the best pass rush defenses in the league, and folks are already complaining about our offensive line protection. SMH.

Tonight's line was every bit as good as the one that took us to the Super Bowl last year.
