Canhawk posted the first owl picture I saw.

Not the first one I ever saw, just the first one on here.

If I recall correctly, the term came about as a situation involving the Term Superbowl being trademarked. Since it was trademarked, those having a party could not have a Superbowl Party without paying some royalties or some such. So they just put a split in it calling it the Superb Owl to separate their party from the game. I do believe it is on a blog...like the one following this verbage. Go Hawks.

I have saved all his P.M.'s to me. I have to admit, I have teared up while reading them.

I used to send him racing pics and links for events that were being streamed that he might not have known about.

Now, when those pics and things become available, I just have to say to myself, Les would have loved this.

It's funny how certain things will jog your memories.

I didn't know Les near as long as many here but we did grow fairly close in the short time I've been around.
It's not a bit surprising that a thread about "Superb Owl" leads us to "The Radish"
I'll admit I'm one that never cared for it being typed out that way, especially on purpose. Was told more than once to "settle down" by Les over my dislike. Les loved him some "SuperB owl"

I raise my glass to Les and ANOTHER superb owl.

They've been using it on /sp/ @ 4chan since at least '09. Dont know if it started there, but thats the earliest known iteration that I can remember.
