I loved what he had to say.

Opens talking about the recent signings...said it's a strong statement that we are following what we've always said all along and that is we want to keep and reward our core players.

on the timing...said they are getting near the end of the business year and they are just getting things done as they can. Said they have a huge plan and John's done a great job of keeping us on track. Says he formulated and mapped out the plan for the direction of this team. Said we aren't done. Said there's more to keep doing in the off season. He says it's important to back up what you say and these signings do that.

on preparing for this week...says it's really exciting right now. Each week becomes another event. Feels like it's a championship game. That is the way they try to prepare each week to be ready for games like these.

Okung is out and unger is out. Said Unger didn't recover well from practicing last week. Sounds like he pushed himself a bit too hard perhaps. Said he was able to run yesterday and today, so he may have shot today

Sweezy is a go

On Bailey preparing. Said it makes a big difference knowing where he'll play. Said he had a solid week.

Richardson was just given a break

Matthews tweaked his hamstring in practice and they will have to wait and see.

Moeaki is a game day decision

Dobbs will be back before the end of the season

Said Unger's knee is fine now and it's just his ankle holding him back.

Would have been a shame for Richardson to miss time especially after things are starting to click with him.

So when the crap are we gonna see Unger? It seemed like folks thought he was close to being ready for the game @ Santa Clara, now 3 weeks later and things still feel the same with him. Is this going to turn into Zach Miller where's he's just done for the season?

Ankle sprains are unique in that they can all have much different healing times. From the way Pete spoke on it today, it sounded like Unger tried to push himself too hard too fast on the ankle and it just wasn't ready. Doesn't sound like the injury got worse, only that they did too much and he didn't bounce back from it like they had hoped. If he is running on it yesterday and today like Pete said (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) then that bodes well for his return in the next week or two.

The initial projections were 3-4 weeks and he was able to practice right around that. He simply didn't respond well.

They must like Dobbs if they're keeping him on active roster.

Good news on PRich. Dude's about to take off a bit, I think.

Thanks for the report, kid. Encouraging to hear that Moeaki will be a game-time decision, and that Dobbs will be back before the end of the year.

something that struck me as odd, and it may be nothing, but he said Dobbs could be back by the end of the year, but he didn't say next week. It makes me wonder if they think he's going to be ready to play for the Rams game or if they think he'll be ready for the playoffs. Not really sure how to interpret that one.
