ML leads the league with 17 TDs - four receiving and 13 rushing (most of his career).

Like a fine wine, he keeps getting better with age.

I think the media are and were way off base. My guess would be that ML is back for 1 more year and maybe if it can worked out right 2 or 3 more years.

Unless he wants to go out with 2 rings or his injury is worse i dont see why he wouldnt be back. He is still playing VERY well AND under contract for 1 more year.

I think he'll be back next year if he doesn't retire.

If I'm Schneider, I ask him how long he wants to keep playing, then give him a fair 2-3 year contract with a fair amount of guaranteed money.

He's worth it, he's earned it, and I love the way that we're saving him a bit for the playoffs. Turbin and Michael seem like a damn good change of pace and Turbin in particular has been playing well of late. If we can manage Lynch's reps, I can see him lasting another 2-3 years, even with his play style.

And yet not even a whisper of his name in tge MVP conversation. It's almost like the "best player on the best team" criteria doesn't count when it comes to Marshawn. Interesting.

Dez has 18. Not to rain on anyone's parade just providing stats.

I thought he had 16. Let me check again.

Edit- Nah, I'm right. Dez has 16 TDs. Marshawn has 17.

The "MVP conversation" is a media conversation and they hate the guy so I'm thinking it really isn't all that surprising.

Honestly he didn't have anywhere close to a MVP year for a running back when compared to other running backs that have won the MVP since 2000.

Marshawn Lynch is declining. He is not as good as last year.

He got 1257 yards last year and only 1246 yards this year.

I agree.

If he continues to decline at this rapid pace, he will be of no value to the Seahawks by the year 2039.

Here is a list of all Rushing MVPs in the last 16 years compared to Lynch's numbers. Faulk's 26 total tds in his 2000 MVP year was a new NFL record until 2005 when Alexander broke it with 28 then Tomlinson in 2006 with 31. This was while only playing 14 of the 16 games for the regular season due to injury.

2014 Lynch: 280 carries, 1306 rushing yards, 13 rushing td, 37 rec, 367 rec yards, 4 tds.
2012 Peterson: 348 carries, 2097 rushing yards, 12 rushing td, 40 rec, 217 rec yards, 1 tds.
2006 Tomlinson: 348 carries, 1815 rushing yards, 28 rushing td, 56 rec, 508 rec yards, 3 tds.
2005 Alexander: 370 carries, 1880 rushing yards, 27 rushing td, 15 rec, 78 rec yards, 1 tds.
2000 Faulk (14 games): 253 carries, 1359 rushing yards, 18 rushing td, 81 rec, 830 rec yards, 8 tds.
Here is Faulks 2000 stats if averaged out for 16 games instead of 14.
2000 Faulk: 289 carries, 1553 rushing yards, 20 rushing td, 93 rec, 949 rec yards, 9 tds.

1998 Davis: 392 carries, 2008 rushing yards, 21 rushing td, 25 rec, 217 rec yards, 2 tds.

2014 Lynch: 4.66 yards a carry, 9.92 yards per catch, 17 total TDs
2012 Peterson: 6.03 yards a carry, 5.43 yards per catch, 13 total TDs
2006 Tomlinson: 5.22 yards a carry, 9.07 yards per catch, 31 total TDS
2005 Alexander: 5.08 yards a carry, 5.2 yards per catch. 28 total TDS
2000 Faulk (14 games): 5.37 yards a carry, 10.2 yards per catch, 26 total TDs

He probably means attempts. Just about everything else is up for Lynch: TDs, yards per carry, receiving yards, total yards, etc. How many yards would he have running behind our offensive line in 2005? Or if Bevell didn't have his thumb up you-no-where in the first half of games?
