"Clipboard Jesus" when he was a Hawk? Or was that already a known idiom?

Since I'd only heard it hear, the references here were interesting. I posted it on this forum because I thought the name originated here.

My recollection is that he brought the nickname with him from the Charger fan base. They may know where it originated from.

As I understood it, the nickname came from Whitehurst having dinner with the Hasselbecks right after he got here, and Matt's daughter Annabelle thought he was Jesus.
