"NFL Championship Weekend is approaching, and the conference title games offer something fans have not seen in 31 years.

For only the second time in NFL history, three of the four teams have a starting quarterback that has won a Super Bowl - Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson. Colts' signal caller Andrew Luck is the only one still looking for his first Super Bowl ring, having taken down the Broncos and Peyton Manning to prevent the quadfecta.

The last time such a trio of quarterbacks were still playing in the conference championships was during the 1983-84 season, when the Redskins' Joe Theismann, 49ers' Joe Montana and Raiders' Jim Plunkett remained. The Seahawks were the fourth team, with Dave Krieg and Jim Zorn at the helm.

But if the Colts and Seahawks meet in the Super Bowl, that same season will again be tied to this one, as Super Bowl XVIII was the last time two quarterbacks from the same draft faced each other in the Super Bowl. Plunkett was the No. 1 overall selection in the 1971 draft, out of Stanford, and Theismann was a fourth round selection and No. 99 pick out of Notre Dame in 1971.

Luck was the No. 1 overall selection in 2012, also out of Stanford, and Wilson went in the third round that year, No. 75 overall out of Wisconsin."
