Coin Toss

I was wondering what if any stats are on us winning when we win the coin toss. Just judging by my test is seems like we win more when we win the coin toss. I know the coin toss does not determine the outcome of the game but IMHO it affects outr mentality.

Give me the data. I'll tell you if is out the norm.

We're 6-0 when we won the coin flip this season (including postseason).

The Pats are 12-2 this season when winning the coin flip (they won the coin flip in 14 out of 18 games this season!!!

And both teams ALWAYS defer.

I think it definitely suits their game plan.

Defense on the field first. Set the tone.
Get the ball first after the halftime adjustments for the best 2nd half team in the NFL.

I think it fits their personality to attack on defense out of the gate and then attack on offense with explosive plays after the opponent has shown their hand.

Makes sense that statistically this is more successful than the other.

Curious what the actual numbers would be though.
