Anthony Spencer to visit Seahawks

Rather have Hardy but I will take Spencer if we can't get him.

Fits the Leo position perfectly, if he can stay healthy. Probably wants too much money.

Yeah I get it but when you scan the main page and a handful of threads just have player names with no context it becomes click bait.

I had the same issue.

I just saw him linked to the Seahawks on PFT.

I think it would be a good fit. Add hunger players to this DL and we all know what happens. Our DL has played amazing the last 3 years. Sometimes or DB'S get extra credit for how good the DL has been.

Bring in Spencer and Canty. Both would do well here and we could use the depth. $4 Mil each should fit under our cap. I imagine we have about $6 - $10mil left for outside FA's.

I may be wrong, but I believe the rule on these things is that there has to be a link to the Seahawks, such as a scheduled visit or an expression of interest by player or team. So the OP belongs in this forum, but your random fan speculation or "what about signing this guy" posts must go in the NFL forum.

Well, he just got released by a team with a crappy defense and had microfracture surgery last year. I'm not thinking he's going to get a lot of money, especially with a draft loaded with high end edge rushers this year.

That's ridiculous. It's Seahawk related if the FO is bringing him in for a visit. Heck, if the team shows interest at all, it's Seahawk related. New this time of year is dry enough as it is.

Not sure a guy who has managed just 14 games and half a sack over the past two seasons can afford to hold out for too much. We're looking at Schofield's replacement here.

We're not giving Spencer $4m. We've also got about $10m available as it stands, and we've got to squeeze Bobby and Russ in there and perhaps give Sweezy an extension. McDaniel's probably as good as gone (will save $3m), and Mebane should see a restructure (wouldn't rule out a cut). But even then we're probably looking at only one more reasonable FA signing and that'll be stretching us to our limits.

Also, bringing these guys in may force Wisniewski's hand.

I remember he was out in 2013 with mircofracture surgery on his knee. In 2014, he didn't play early on but it appears he got better as the year went on.

You have to figure that he is affordable. Interesting to see how the visit turns out.

Calling him a replacement for Schofield is accurate, he only played a quarter of the snaps for a not very deep Dallas team.
