I want him paid now! Look at what he does with his money, it goes back in to the team.

I know they're trying to fit everyone under the cap, but they may have to make some sacrifices.

Maybe I should listen to some of the commentors on Florios article:

"kylexitron says:

Chill out. The Seahawks don’t do these deals until late april/early may.

Proof? Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor – all signed their big deals after April 24th"

Mike Florio:

"Not long ago, in response to a report that the Seahawks and Russell Wilson were “very close” to a new deal, PFT explained that talks hadn’t even begun.

Per multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, the two sides have since started talking. However, they’re not making much, if any, progress."

Do you really think there is any chance that we're going to lose Wilson?

I couldn't be less concerned about Wilson and the Seahawks getting a deal done if I tried.

If training camp starts and there's no new deal, I'd worry.

If Russell didn't show up for the mini camps and OTA's I'd worry

If Russell didn't have his off season workout with teammates I'd worry

Guess I have nothing to worry about so far.

There's a 0% chance he leaves the Seahawks.

This is just Florio stirring the pot as usual.

Nothing to worry about here until he starts hitting the curveball.

This is not baseball though, you can't just write blank checks. The team that manages their salary cap the best is always going to have an advantage over their competition, especially once injuries happen and you need depth on your roster. You have up to 3 more seasons to get a deal done worse case. Just chill and let our front office work their magic :stirthepot:

Agreed - if there was any reason to be concerned, it would play out in his organization of the off-season activities. If anything, he seems more active in getting the team together. Not the actions of someone concerned about their contract status.

Just my opinion but I think there both done deals already. Just look at the two of them leading workouts in Hawaii. Somebody in contract limbo would not be doing this in the preseason before a contract year.

There;s zero chance he leaves the Hawks. His agent would be a fool not to get a deal done. The leverage is all with the Hawks. Nothing to worry about here.

Have to wait until after Paul gets his taxes done so they know what they can afford. Ya know, the most common private loan repayment comment "I will pay ya back when I get my tax refund".

Here's the bad news. April 30th is the draft. We have no pick. So were looking at May 1st until anything happens.

It is possible RW's contract will get done somewhere in between now and then.

Also, the Seahawks have until (I think May 3) to decide whether or not to either get Irvin an extension, or use his option year or not. This decision will have cap consequences as well, which will in turn necessitate how we put together contracts for guys like Wilson and Wagner.

In other words, there are plenty of things that can make subtle changes to how they will eventually want to formulate Wilson and Wagner's extensions. There's no reason not to let some of this stuff play out before they get too far into it.

Contract talk doesn't really become a distraction or issue until training camp. Until then, as long as everyone is participating in mandatory camps and such, I am not too concerned at all

JS makes comment.

Sort of sounds like he is saying they are prepared to move on without him.

I got that feel as well but refuse to read anything into it.
It's all part of the game. I don't believe for one minute that they let RW walk.
I believe they have plan B & C however.

That would be correct.
