But if you are looking for a lesser-known rookie who stood out Friday, how about undrafted rookie Tyrell Adams? Adams, who played at West Georgia, made one of the better plays of the day, recognizing, then blowing up a screen pass, nearly intercepting the throw, earning some enthusiastic praise from first-teamers on the sideline.

LB Tyrell Adams
I didn't know much about Adams before practice, but he flashed a few times. First, he read a screen pass to Thomas Rawls and blew it up. Later, he broke up another pass play in zone coverage. He looks like he has good instincts, and is on my early list of ones to watch.

LB Tyrell Adams: The 6-foot-2, 228-pounder is a rookie out of West Georgia. After being named to the All-Gulf-South first team as a junior in 2013, the Atlanta native was named to the 2014 USA College Football All-American first team after leading the Wolves with 92 total tackles his senior season. Adams also racked up 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and eight pass breakups.

Godspeed Bruce?

Speaking of which . . .

Hot tempers on a hot day

Linebacker Bruce Irvin figured to come to camp highly motivated after the Seahawks declined his fifth-year option on May, and he certainly looked that way on Saturday. In a matter of minutes during 11-on-11 sessions, the 2012 first-round pick got into two shoving and shouting matches with tackle Russell Okung, both of which required their teammates to step in and break up the fight.

Who will be losing their job for this guy? Koyle? Marsh? The LB from Boston college? Eric Pinkins?

I would say Adams vs. Pinkins is the most direct competition. Coyle is a backup Mike LB, and Marsh has been taking backup reps at LEO.

Looking forward to seeing this kid get some playing time. Him, pinkins and kpl add some raw speed at lb

As far as bruce Irvin goes, he begins training camp on the same note as the end of the superbowl: a shoving match with another player.

I realize this happens during training camp, and we got to love the enthusiasm, but really? He better not do something selfish when it counts and throw a punch

It's such a shame that Bruce gets all this negativity from the Superbowl for jumping in to back up his teammate that got punched. Sure hate to have a guy like that in your corner

LB Tyrell Adams
This guy is on the official watch list. He had a great finish to practice by sticking with Rawls deep down the field on a wheel route and running him out of bounds before he could make a catch, and then making a great break on the ball to knock down a pass on the next play. A few plays later, he again demonstrated good instincts and speed tackling Rod Smith in the backfield on a sweep. This undrafted free agent is doing all the right things early in camp.
