Pretty soon we will have so little experience left on the o-line, that all our d-line converts are gonna get confused for a play and turn around and sack RW.

In addition we have the reported trade of WR- Kevin Norwood to Carolina for an unspecified draft pick.

Wow, and then there was 1 at center. Strange he would be in the mix for starting and then not even make it as a backup.

Interesting decision to release Jeanpierre, though it was predicted by some. He was a steady presence in the preseason, but always struggled as a run blocker. Clearly, he was beaten out by Nowak for the starting center position and beaten out by Lewis (the superior run blocker) for the backup center position.

Congrats to Lewis in getting back into this competition at center and likely making the 53-man roster.

He's a good drive blocker but not very heady about making calls, that's pretty important as a Center, that's where Lewis is very good but limited in the physical department.

LJP lost his roster spot when he was beaten out by Nowak, better to let him go.

Frankly although he had an understanding of the system he lacked physicality at the POA and was not a very good run blocker being unable to move the pile inside. at this stage I'm not really sure that Lewis will make the 53 if there is a cut elsewhere or the team decides to add Satele.

Can't say there are very many real surprises with these cuts.

I think they have a plan to bring in a vet like Satele or someone else.

PUP means in won't be before the 6 weeks of the regular season but wouldn't hold your breath for this season. Torn ACL and an arm broken in half in February is asking a lot.

They do. I seriously doubt they are going forward with just Nowak and Lewis at that position. Personally I think Satele is on speed dial if he hasn't already signed somewhere else. They may already have a deal in place, but want to wait until after the first game to finalize.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

This is a tweet from last week.

Oh, I know . . . just posting it for those who might have missed it. Samson Satele remains a free agent. He is known to be a better run blocker than pass protector, in the same mold as Patrick Lewis but with more athleticism.

I don't suppose there are any halfway decent LTs out there? Bailey as a backup is a somewhat frightening proposition at the moment.

Not really, other than Jake Long . . . supposedly, he has been medically cleared. Maybe he is waiting until someone loses a starting LT so he can cash in.

Sam Baker's dad is saying he is going to retire.

Maybe Anthony Collins?
