A very informative article on scheduling and extra rest following byes and Thursday games. I wasn't aware that the Seahawks play four consecutive home games with the other team coming off of a bye week. Or that all of our division opponents get 10 or 14 days rest before traveling to CLINK.

http://www.footballperspective.com/wash ... -schedule/

One item not mentioned is that beginning this past Monday Night, the Seahawks began a home-away-home-away set of four games to be played in 17 days.

10/5 Home v. Lions
10/11 Away v. Bengals
10/18 Home v. Panthers (coming off of their bye week)
10/22 Away v. 49ers (3rd year in a row with a short week at 49ers)

Honorable mention for the two tough road games to open the season as well.

Will it matter? Probably a bit as three of the four after-bye opponents are pretty damn good teams to begin with and the Rams with extra days before our final home game. It is strange that this "coincidence" only happens before a Seahawks home game.

But if anyone thinks the NFL doesn't want the team from South Alaska to win and schedules accordingly, they're being paranoid. :sarcasm_off:

EDIT to add:

"3rd year in a row with a short week at 49ers"...........And 4th year in a row on the road for the Thursday night game.

I show it as a sign of respect. Too difficult for teams traveling up here, need to make sure they are as prepared as possible to keep the games competitive and ratings up.
