The Seahawks have been too fat and happy. This is not a offensive carried club, this WAS an in your face trash talking nightmare. There is nothing wrong with being hated and we sent the message to other teams that we are going to kick your ass, run it down your throat and there is nothing you can do about it except sit back and enjoy it. Sherman is too nice now, we need to go back to the brash cocky in your face band of brothers. :thfight7:

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I miss the trash-talking and overall badass attitudes. What the hell happened?

They probably caught too much hate mail and now being family men decided they didn't want some whack-job showing up at their door ready to blow stuff up. It happens. Now you have young wolves at your heels that want what you have. Before you were the hungry wolf.

Look at the Packers. They won one with Rodgers then went dormant. 4 seasons later they are feeling the conference and league is theirs. Maybe the Seahawks will have to go through the same phase before they get hungry again?

The feeling would have to run true, otherwise they would be talking just to hear themselves (sort of like Bennett).

There's nothing nice about what the Seahawks are doing on defense. Kam just leveled Calvin Johnson and the defense is on a roll with just 3pts given up in the last 8 quarters.

It's a talent issue right now on offense. It's not being too mean or nice. The OL is not good right now.

Just go back to the 2013 season

12-7 win @ Carolina
23-20 comeback OT win over Houston
20-13 win vs Tennessee after being outplayed the 1st half
14-9 win on MNF @ St. Louis. Lucky to win that one.
27-24 win over TB in OT after being badly outplayed. Trailed 21-0.
10-17 L at home to Arizona

Even in the SB year the team played close games and played down to opponents. Were they too fat and happy then?

This is who the Seahawks are. They for the most part play close games and beat teams in the 4th Q.

It is the Seahawks' mantra to keep it close and finally pull away late, but the difference between the '13 team and this year so far, the '13 team always found a way to win those tight games (aside from the AZ contest). I think there is a noticeable difference in the Hawks' lack of swagger-the body language of many of the players isn't the same either. That '13 team was hungry and out to prove everyone wrong.

But they didn't always find a way to win those close games. In fact they lost 3 close games that season.

And it took some miraculous comeback (HOU, TB) to not lose a couple more games. The team trailed by 2+ TD's in both of those games. As said before, the TB game was 21-0 and the HOU game was 20-6 in the 4th Q.

Was that 2013 team better? Yes, absolutely. But it's not because they had more "swagger" or were "meaner".

It's because the OL was much better than it is now, the Seahawks didn't deal with a star player holding out, the depth overall was better (especially in the secondary), list goes on

The 2013 team was better because they were a better team. There was no obvious glaring weakness like the Seahawks are dealing with right now with the OL.

Just to go back to the OP

" run it down your throat and there is nothing you can do about it except sit back and enjoy it..."

It takes OL blocking to get that done! The talent was better. It's not about having swagger. It's about knowing your job and executing.

Maybe you can watch the Hawks the first 4 weeks, I cannot. We have much more talent on offense. Lockett > Tate. Tate doesn't even return punts. We have the 2nd best tight end in football and our veterans should be much better. So if we had Carpenter and Giacomini back we would be elite on O??? Gilliam is better than any right tack we have ever had. Unger hasn't set the world on fire in New Orleans so he might be an upgrade but not much. We are loaded with talent and as deep on D as I can remember.

Sherman will go back to talking when he locks it down again. There isn't much room to talk when he isn't even turning around to the ball like he used to.

We have 3 new guys on the OL. They should be hungry and wanting a contract.

It's an experience issue. They'll get better as the year goes on, similar to 2012. We'll probably blow up like 2012 again, as we have much better skill position players now: Graham, Lockett, Baldwin is better now than then, Kearse is better now than then, etc. We'll have better balance.

If the OL can't improve, then it's a talent issue.

Not the whole team, but I do think Richard Sherman played better when he was trash talking every game.

The team is just finding their indentity again after a bit of a disappointing start. Wilson is finding his targets on deep passes again, some of them even after some classic Russ scrambles. The D is back to the way it was now Kam is back and special teams is stellar as always. The moment Beast comes back and goes on a roll I think we'll be seeing exactly those Seahawks you want to see.
