I have been frustrated by penalties over the past few seasons. The false starts and unnecessary roughness were the most bothersome. I think it was Giacomini who used to get a lot of those. Some other guys. Anyway, I noticed this season sitting there thinking, Wow, there hasn't been a penalty almost the whole quarter some times. It's been pretty cool. I guess it came along with the youth and swagger. Anyway, this season we have committed only 51 accepted penalties for 459 yards. This is tied with the Redskins for 4th fewest. We have been the beneficiary of 41 opponent penalties for 209 yards. 19 of ours committed were pre-snap.

I am interested to hear people's take on this. It's obviously a positive trend. It might be our savior in some close games going forward where we can't afford to shoot ourselves in the foot. Many of our players are now getting more experienced. Perhaps some credit is due to coaching on this very problem.
