NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday morning that the belief is Lynch's abdomen injury is a sports hernia. Lynch will meet with noted specialist Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia today.

If Meyers confirms the fear, surgery would come quickly and Beast Mode could be out the rest of the regular season, Rapoport reports, per a source informed of the injury.

Hopefully he's back for playoffs.

Could be a blessing having Lynch rested for the playoffs if he's healthy by then.

Ironically, this happened when he first grabbed his crotch.

Hernia surgery, while very common, is no joke. I had Hernia surgery my senior year of college (also had Tommy John & major wrist surgery). It was easily the most miserable experience. You can't do anything without immense pain (it is around your core). It's not a surprise to me that Lynch is consulting with the best.

All in all...I was incapacitated for a solid 5 weeks. Couldn't do major athletic movement for another 4 weeks. I'm not Marshawn Lynch, but I was a college baseball player. Last caveat, I had this surgery pre-arthroscopic availability. Going in arthroscopically should greatly cut down on the recovery time IMO, as the worst part of the recovery (for me), was the massive scar tissue in the area due to a large incision.

By the by, I'm not trying to scare Seattle fans. I'm just saying; it's a sensitive area and you never know how guys respond to surgery.

^ This.

If we make the playoffs is when I would want a healthy Lynch. If we don't make it them no important when he is fully healthy as the season would be done.

I think if it's the hernia Lynch is likely done. He's almost 30 and his brand of football was never going to be kind on his body. I wouldn't be surprised if this is it for his career with the Seahawks.

I hope not.

One of my favorite Seahawks ever.

So if he winds up out for the year, is it just Rawls and Jackson the rest of the way? I'd imagine we'd pick someone up.

Agree. Anyone have thoughts on who?

Is Christine Michael still available? :common069:

I think he's on someone's PS. In that case the Hawks are free to sign him right? I thought of him when I asked the question. Seriously. He knows the system.

Also, what about Rod Smith? Is he on the Dullass PS or active roster? I know Turbin's on their active but Smith, maybe not?

Neither being signed would surprise me. The Hawks and 9ers signed, cut and signed (back and forth) BJ Daniels and Ricardo Lockette.

We just cut Bryce Brown. If the worst happens, we might re-sign him. Depends on who's available and how much Pete likes him.

I doubt he comes back at all if he goes through with the surgery, which would be an awful way for a great seahawks career to end.
How soon can he go into the ring of honor if he retires?

I blame "Sports Hernia" for this.. he had Lynch as his avatar.

All this time he should have picked Bevell.
