What a difference a week makes . . . the Seahawks' playoff odds have improved to 82% from 56% a week ago. Seahawks are now ranked #4 in team strength by Elo. They are favored by 2/3 to beat #16 Baltimore on the road this week.
The Seahawks maintain a 7% chance to win the division. For that to happen, the Seahawks need Arizona to lose at least two of its next three games (vs Minnesota, @Philadelphia, vs Green Bay), and then they need to beat Arizona head to head. That probably will not happen, which is unfortunate.
Alternatively, capturing the #5 seed and ensuring a soft matchup against the NFC East Champ would be preferable to what the #6 seed looks like today: at Green Bay (again). I will be rooting for Minnesota to bounce back on a short week to upset Arizona in order to improve our odds of winning the division title. But if that does not happen, the Seahawks would move up to the #5 seed with a win and a Minnesota loss.
