The mystique is gone. Have only beat garbage teams and QB's at home.

The Clink isn't scary for anyone anymore. I still love our chances in the playoffs. I'm not putting the Hawks down in the least, so please don't think that. But the edge has been lost at home.

It's only because they play like sh*t ! It reminds me of the Dave Krieg era.....you could tell what the day was going to be like by watching the first two offensive series.

That's a pretty big reason.

I'm glad the Hawks are on the road for the playoffs and I genuinely mean that.

Hopefully the players don't patronize the "12's" anymore with fake adulation. It was getting a bit nauseating. It's just not the same environment as it was a couple years ago. That's to no fault of the fans. Ticket prices have skyrocketed, and many of the diehards have been priced out.

This is something I wanted to address.

I have noticed, as a season ticket holder since the new stadium was built (and before that) in the past two years that indeed the fear of playing here is gone. Teams have figured out silent counts and other methods to neutralize the noise. Where 10 years ago opposing teams were besides themselves trying to hear the play call, now all they do is silent count and the ball is snapped without issue no matter how LOUD it is.

This, to me, is one of the most distressing elements of all. Where our home was once feared as the most intimidating, LOUDEST place to play, is little more than a nuisance to teams coming here.

5-3 at home this year is probably my least favorite stat of all.

It's been lessened, that's for sure. But the team has also dug its own grave as well. I have at least 10 friends that have been priced out of their tickets over the past three years. It's not cool. We're told that we're valued, yet my brother's tickets have gone from $85 a seat to $135 a seat since 2013, and we paid $145 just to park against GB last year for the first game of the season.

Here's another story. And this doesn't really relate to anything here, but whatever. We were able to get my 12-year-old nephew on the field before the Panthers game. He has cancer. We paid a lot to do so. We bought very expensive footballs from the team shop to get them signed. Before buying them, I walked across the street and asked three different attendants if we could bring them in. They all said yes. So we buy Sharpies, and the footballs. We go to the gate for our escort into the game, and the field, and are told that the footballs are considered weapons and can't be brought in. We had no time to take them to the truck, or we'd miss going on the field. We asked if we could leave the footballs with them, and get them after the game. We were told absolutely not. So we threw them in the garbage can. Such BS. And my bro is a 10 year season ticket holder, and has four seats. Great customer service. They really love us 12s.

Apologies for venting, everyone.

I've had season tickets on and off for the past 15 years. The games don't feel as loud as they used to, I don't know if it's complacency from being so successful or the influx of bandwagon / corporate fans coming in for the "best show in town", it just doesn't feel the same.

Going to games used to feel like something special, where well adjusted crazy people could get together and scream, dance, and cheer the entire game, it didn't matter what the score was, what the down was... those days are gone.

I think it's time WE as a fan base really come to terms with this, we're not the best home field advantage in sports anymore, we're not the loudest most raucous fans anymore... and it pisses me off.

I honestly can't tell how loud it is cause I'm screaming at the top of my lungs when we are on defense.
Thus I can't hear.

Same thing happens every time a team gets good in any market. But, if you think it has gotten bad at the Clink, go to a stadium like Jerry World where people only go to: (1) Be seen and engage in business/socializing, (2) see the away team, or (3) cause trouble.

But, I agree with you on the ticket prices crowding out the hardcore fan. Last year I was at the San Fran game in some really good seats and a guy spent an entire time explaining football rules (incorrectly) to his date. Yes...he took his date to a football game.

There was never really a "mystique" .. the team was just stacked with talent for the past several years. This years team pales in comparison to 2013, 2014.. and I would argue might be worse than the 2012 team as well. Injuries and roster turnover have more to do with the 5-3 record at home this year than it losing some sort of luster.

The biggest problem imo is the slow starting offense. My reasoning is this:

Crowd comes out pumped. Defense normally comes up with stop.

Offense stalls.

Defense eventually gives up some points.

Offense continues to look atrocious.

Defense or special teams makes a play, setting up offense to actually do something.

Crowd finally comes fully alive.

Compare this to a game that goes like this:

Crowd comes out pumped.

Defense makes a stop.

Offense scores.

Crowd amps up defense.

Defense makes a stop.

Offense scores.

Opposing team, playing from behind, has our pass rush absolutely tee off.

Game.

These slow starts against decent teams WILL sink this team eventually. You can't always recover onsides kicks in the nfccg.

2 losses to teams with a combined 27-3 record. Rams game was an anomaly. Not disagreeing with you all but we did draw two very good teams here this season.

Talking about high ticket prices......

I perused the NFL Ticket Exchange last week thinking about purchasing a ticket for the Rams game......only to discover that the cheapest seat in the stadium was $200!

I've watched people who purchase "store bought" tickets at our games. They never scream while the Defense is on the field because.........they are taking "selfies". What is happening to the 12th Man?

I wouldn't go that far. It's still by FAR one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. We 12's simply have a right to complain if it's not quite as deafening as in year's past, but do not mistake the venting for the fact that it is still very, very loud, especially compared to other stadiums.
